GTA 6, how to

How do you buy a house or a business in GTA 6?

Short answer

Jason has a safehouse, because Rockstar's own caption says so. That is the only property the official material confirms; no frame shows a sale sign, a price, a deed or an income. Until 19 November 2026 the reference is Grand Theft Auto V, where businesses were bought from a sign outside and paid a weekly profit into the bank.

Property is where a Grand Theft Auto turns from a crime story into an economy, and the last game built half its late-game money on it. GTA 6’s material has plenty of businesses in it, all of them somebody else’s. One home is confirmed, and that is where this page starts and, for now, ends.

What the footage shows

Rockstar’s alt text for a press screenshot describes the exterior of Jason’s safehouse, with the Vapid Ganado, the Dinka Enduro and the Crest Kayak stationed outside. So Jason has a home, and Rockstar calls it a safehouse. Whether it was bought, given, or comes with the story, and whether Lucia has one, the caption does not say.

Businesses fill the frames without belonging to anyone we can see. A nightclub with its name lit on the wall at 1:39 of Trailer 2; a gun shop advertising on television; a jewellery store, a pawn shop, motels, a boatyard, a car meet on a lot by the water. Every one of them has a page on this site because its name is legible, and not one of them has a sale sign, a price or an owner in the frame.

What nobody knows

  • Whether homes and businesses can be bought at all in the story.
  • How a purchase is made: a sign, a website, a phone, a person.
  • Whether a business earns money on its own, and whether the drug table in the Extended Look is one.
  • Whether Jason and Lucia share a home or each have one, and what a safehouse does: saving, sleeping, storing cars.

How Grand Theft Auto V did it

This is the reference, not a prediction. In Grand Theft Auto V, commercial property for sale was marked on the map and bought on the spot by walking up to the For Sale sign outside. Each business then paid a weekly profit into the owner’s bank account. The GTA Wiki’s table runs from a taxi company at two hundred thousand dollars earning two thousand a week to a cinema at ten million earning a hundred and thirty-two thousand; the strip club was the one business that also worked as a safehouse, for Trevor. Homes themselves were not for sale in the story: each lead had his, and the wardrobe and the bed came with it.

What this page becomes on launch day

From 19 November 2026 this guide is rewritten from the release build: what can be bought, how, what it costs and earns, and what a safehouse does, each with the date it was checked. Until then the short answer at the top stands.

Where this comes from

Every claim above rests on one of these. Anything marked the platform holder is Sony or Microsoft describing their own store or hardware, not Rockstar. Anything marked reported is somebody else telling us what Rockstar said, and is treated as weaker than Rockstar saying it.
