GTA 6, how to
How do you customise your car in GTA 6?
Short answer
The footage shows the results and not the shop. A meet full of wrapped cars at 26:06 of the Extended Look, a lowrider laid on the floor with airbrushed flanks at 0:27 of Trailer 1, and a car lit from underneath at a street takeover say that wraps, stance and underglow are in the game. No frame shows a garage, a menu or a price. Until launch, the reference is Los Santos Customs in Grand Theft Auto V.

Where the footage shows it
Modified cars are everywhere in the official material, which is a statement about the game even before anyone opens a menu. Wraps, stance, wheels, lighting: all of it is on screen, and all of it is on cars the player is looking at rather than building. This page is the inventory of what is shown, and the last game’s shop as the reference.
What the footage shows
At 26:06 of the Extended Look a waterfront lot holds a row of cars parked nose-out. The nearest is a black four-door in a full wrap with HAWX along the window band and MANOR across the bonnet; behind it a sedan in black and white dazzle stripes with blue and red accents, and behind that a dark car with green graffiti lettering across its flank. Three cars, three complete liveries, on one lot. At 0:27 of Trailer 1 a pale blue lowrider sits on the floor at a street meet with magenta, white and teal scrollwork airbrushed down its rear flank, in a row of cars with their boots open and a magenta coupe on deep rims beside it.
Lighting is the third thing. At 0:45 of the same trailer the car at the centre of a street takeover is lit magenta from underneath, and underglow shows again in a later street scene. That brings vehicle lighting back into the series after the last game launched without it and only added it online. What none of the frames show is where any of it comes from: no garage, no shop front, no menu, no price, no respray booth.
What nobody knows
- Where cars are modified, and whether there is one chain or many.
- What can be changed: paint, wraps, wheels, stance, hydraulics, lights, performance.
- What any of it costs, and whether a wrap survives a respray.
- Whether a respray still shakes the police, and whether it clears the car icon in the wanted display.
How Grand Theft Auto V did it
This is the reference, not a prediction. Grand Theft Auto V had one chain, Los Santos Customs, which sold paint, wheels and body kits, and engine, brake and transmission upgrades, and repaired what you drove in. Driving into one, the GTA Wiki notes, lost any wanted level as long as the police had not seen you approach, and the garage door stayed shut if they had. Underglow was not in the shop at launch and reached only GTA Online later; a full lot of wrapped cars with lights under them is a shop the last game never had.
What this page becomes on launch day
From 19 November 2026 this guide is rewritten from the release build: the shops, the menu, the prices and what a respray does to a chase, each with the date it was tested. Until then the short answer at the top stands.
Where this comes from
Every claim above rests on one of these. Anything marked the platform holder is Sony or Microsoft describing their own store or hardware, not Rockstar. Anything marked reported is somebody else telling us what Rockstar said, and is treated as weaker than Rockstar saying it.
