Trailer 1 · snt-00023 · 0:45.47 · usable frame · n.v.t. · 3840 × 2030 px © Rockstar Games The whole frame at 3840 × 2160, scaled down to fit — never enlarged. The box marks the crop exactly as we measured it, and that crop is the detail alongside, at its true size.

A street takeover seen from high above at night: a junction closed off, smoke across the crossing, a car with two people standing on its roof in the middle and a crowd around it.

The frame, at 0:45 of Trailer 1, looks steeply down on an intersection from high above, with the facades of the buildings on the far side still in view. At the centre one dark car sits in a ring of smoke, lit magenta from underneath, with two people standing on its roof and a third beside it; circles of rubber are scored into the tarmac around it. A second car, green, stands just below it in the frame, in the middle of the junction. Smoke fills the crossing, and on the approaches it glows white in the cars’ headlights.

People stand around the cars in a loose ring and more line the pavements, several with an arm raised. The crossings on the right-hand and near sides are painted in multicoloured chevrons, and on the far right corner a green-fronted shop is lit up; its name is not read here.

The approaches are lined with cars across the lanes with their headlights on, which is what makes this a takeover rather than a race: somebody has closed the junction. The smoke and the tyre marks say what happened before this instant; at the instant itself the car in the middle is a stage, with its audience round it.

Underglow is the detail worth recording. GTA 5 launched in 2013 without it, and neon kits reached Los Santos Customs only with the re-release for newer consoles and PC in 2014 and 2015. Here it sits under a car at a street meet in the first trailer, and the frame does not say whether it is something players fit or part of the scenery.

How to recognise it

  • An intersection closed off by cars on the approaches, headlights on
  • One dark car in a ring of smoke with two people standing on its roof
  • Magenta underglow under the centre car
  • A loose ring of onlookers around the cars
  • Seen steeply from above, at night

The frame it comes from

The frame is Trailer 1 at 0:45.47. It is 3840 by 2160, and the subject occupies 3840 by 2030 of it. Also in it: a crossroads at night.

How this was measured

Source Trailer 1, 0:45.47
Frame 3840 × 2160
Crop 3840 × 2030 — most of the frame
Image check 25 September 2026 — crop checked against the frame
Text check 27 September 2026 — 27 claims read against the image, 6 corrected
Read at the true pixel grid, 1:1

What we still do not know

A note on this record

Until 22 September 2026 this page had the centre car turning inside its own length; the frame shows no motion. On 25 September 2026 three more things changed: the shot looks down at an angle rather than straight down, the green car stands in the middle of the junction rather than at its edge, and neon kits came to GTA 5 with its re-release, in the story as well as online.

Also in these frames

Measured in the same frames as the images above, but without a page of their own. Same rule as everywhere else: what the crop carries, with the source and the timecode. The ones whose frame no page shows are collected in the frame.
