Every claim about GTA 6 that we have checked is in the register below, with three things attached: where it came from, the day we last checked it, and a status. Confirmed means Rockstar, Take-Two, a platform holder or the person involved said it themselves. Debunked means a first-hand source contradicts it. Everything else is unconfirmed, however often it is repeated and whoever repeats it.
How the register works
- Confirmed needs a first-hand source: Rockstar or Take-Two, a platform holder writing about its own store or hardware, or a person speaking about their own work. A report of what Rockstar said, however reputable the outlet, is not first-hand and cannot confirm anything here.
- Debunked needs the same kind of source pointing the other way. A rumour that merely goes quiet, or that an insider disputes, stays unconfirmed.
- Unconfirmed is the default, and it is not a verdict on whether a claim is likely. Some claims on this page are probably true. They stay unconfirmed until somebody with first-hand knowledge says so.
- Under each claim, rests on names the source the status stands on, with its kind in brackets and its date where it has one. Where it circulated names the earliest report of the claim that we have read ourselves, which is not always the earliest that exists.
- The history under a claim is dated. A claim never leaves the register: a debunked one stays, with the day it was debunked, because the people who read it last year are still searching for it.
37 claims on the register: 13 confirmed, 15 unconfirmed, 9 debunked. Last checked .

Stephen Root is in GTA 6.

GTA 6 costs $150.
Take-Two's pre-order announcement of 24 June 2026 prices the standard edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99. No $150 tier of the game exists; the only GTA 6 product above $99.99 is a $399.99 merchandise box that does not include the game.

GTA 6 has been delayed to 2027.
Rockstar's product page carries 19 November 2026, pre-orders have been taken against that date since 25 June 2026, and Take-Two's guidance to investors is built on it, as GTA BOOM set out. Nothing first-hand has moved the date.

GTA 6 has been cancelled.
A cancelled game does not take pre-orders on three storefronts, publish a pre-load date, or premiere a showcase of over twenty-six minutes twelve weeks before release. All three happened in 2026.

GTA 6 has real car brands.
Every manufacturer legible in Rockstar's own footage is fictional: thirteen of them across seventeen vehicles, as this site's database stood on 23 September 2026. Take-Two's chief executive ruled out real-world brand partnerships on stage in April 2026, as Variety reported.
History (3 entries)
- Zelnick rules out real brands, on stage with Variety.

Unconfirmed since
GTA 6 cost $2 billion to make.
Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has disclosed a budget, and Take-Two says it does not discuss costs title by title. Its chief executive has said development began in earnest in 2020 and no more; the only filed figures are Rockstar North's wage bills.
History (4 entries)
- First seen: Game Rant reports the Niche Gamer range.
- GameLuster traces the round figure to its origins.
- No first-hand figure exists.
- Earnings-call transcript re-read: no word on cost; the verdict no longer calls the project 'expensive' in Zelnick's name, because the transcript does not.
Unconfirmed since
GTA 6 is just under 200 GB.
Neither store listing carried an install size on 23 September 2026, and Rockstar has published none. The first number worth believing appears when pre-loading opens on 12 November.

The PC version arrives in February 2027.
No PC version has been announced: no date, no store page, no requirements. Rockstar's product page lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only, and Take-Two's chief executive calling PC 'more and more important' in September 2026 is not a date.
History (4 entries)
- Screen Rant reports the February 2027 claim.

Leonida is about three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2's map.
Rockstar has given no size. Its only map so far is on the back of a poster in a $399.99 merchandise box announced on 24 September 2026, and the store page puts no number on it. A comparison relayed from a preview is reported, not first-hand, until Rockstar puts it in writing.
History (4 entries)

- Rockstar's media page re-read: no map, no size.
- Rockstar announces a full map of Leonida on the back of a poster in its $399.99 merchandise box; the store page gives no size.

Unconfirmed since
Leonida's landmass measures about 83 km².
The number is a measurement of something Rockstar never published, from material this site does not use. Rockstar has given no size, including for the poster map it announced on 24 September 2026.
History (4 entries)

Unconfirmed since
Leonida has islands called Sandbars and Crude Islands.
Both names appeared on the map side of a Rockstar Store product photo on 24 September 2026, and Rockstar replaced the photo within hours without them. A name Rockstar withdrew is not a name Rockstar published; it stays unconfirmed until Rockstar or the game uses it.
History (2 entries)
- The labels appear on Rockstar's product photo and are removed within hours.
- Dexerto reports the names and the removal.
Unconfirmed since
GTA 6 runs at 30fps on consoles, with no 60fps mode at launch.
Rockstar North's Rob Nelson is reported to have told visiting creators that the consoles were running the game at 30fps 'during this development period', and that a 60fps option was for the technical team to determine. Rockstar has published no frame rate for any console.
History (3 entries)
- Kotaku reports the remark.
- Both store listings re-read: no performance information.

Switching an Xbox account to New Zealand lets you play about 19 hours early.
The regional unlock times are in the store listings; the workaround is reporting's inference from them. Neither Sony, Microsoft nor Rockstar has said what happens to an account that tries it.
History (3 entries)
- GTA BOOM publishes the unlock times and the workaround.
- Store listings re-read; nothing first-hand on the workaround.
- Sources re-read; unchanged.
Unconfirmed since
GTA 6 has cheat codes.
Rockstar has not said whether GTA 6 has a cheat system, and neither its product page nor Take-Two's announcement mentions cheats. Every mainline GTA has had them, which makes it likely and confirms nothing.
History (3 entries)
- Sources checked for the answer page: no mention of cheats.
- Product page and announcement re-read: still no mention.
- Sources re-read; unchanged.
Unconfirmed since
Jason wears a V-Rock t-shirt in the footage.
This site carried the sighting until 23 September 2026 and withdrew it: the source turned out to mention V-Rock only in a comment, and we have not cut a frame that shows the shirt. It returns only with a frame.
History (2 entries)

Unconfirmed since
A Trailer 3 arrives before launch, around 12 November 2026.
Rockstar has announced nothing after An Extended Look. A date reasoned from a previous game's schedule is a guess with a method, not information.
History (3 entries)
- Beebom publishes the projection.
- Media page re-read: nothing announced.
- Sources re-read; unchanged.
Unconfirmed since
A collector's edition of GTA 6 is coming.
There are two editions of the game: standard at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99. Since 24 September 2026 Rockstar also sells The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, a $399.99 box of merchandise that its own store says comes with the game "sold separately". That box is not a collector's edition of the game, and nothing first-hand says one is coming or that one is not.
History (4 entries)
- Two editions announced, no third.
- Announcement re-read; unchanged.
- Rockstar puts The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection on sale: a $399.99 box of merchandise with a map poster, game sold separately.
- Store page read: still 'game sold separately'. The status stays unconfirmed, because the claim is about an edition of the game.
Unconfirmed since
GTA 6 has crossplay.
Rockstar has said nothing about crossplay either way, no multiplayer mode has been announced, and its own support pages show that GTA Online never had console-to-PC crossplay. There is nothing yet to play across platforms.
History (2 entries)
- Product page and support pages re-read: nothing either way.
- Sources re-read; unchanged.
Unconfirmed since
Rockstar sacked the developer of GTA 6's save system, and the game was delayed because saving was broken.
Rockstar's own delay announcement of 6 November 2025 gives no cause beyond more time for polish. Kotaku's Zack Zwiezen wrote that his sources at Rockstar say the game saves and loads as expected, which is a reported denial rather than a first-hand one; the claim itself came with no evidence.
History (3 entries)
- The claim is reported, and contradicted through Kotaku's sources.
- Rockstar's delay post re-read: no cause given.
- Rockstar's delay post re-read: more time for polish, no other cause.
No claim matches that. Try a word from the claim itself, or clear the status filter.
What we will not do
We do not reproduce leaked footage, code, documents or screenshots, and we do not link to them. A claim that rests on leaked material is recorded as a claim and stays unconfirmed, whatever the material shows, because we cannot check it against anything Rockstar has published. We do not treat an insider’s track record as evidence, and we do not move a claim to confirmed on the strength of reporting, however many outlets carry it: one first-hand source outweighs any number of second-hand ones.
What we do not know
The register holds the claims we have checked, not every claim that exists. A claim that is missing here is one we have not got to, not one we have judged false. If you have seen a claim that should be in it, tell us where you saw it and when; a link to where the claim first appeared shortens the check considerably. The questions behind the most-searched claims have pages of their own on the answers section, each with its own sources and dates.
