How much does GTA 6 cost?

The GTA 6 price is $79.99 for the standard edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition, the same on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Those are the US figures from Take-Two’s own announcement of 24 June 2026. Rockstar’s product page carries the editions but no prices at all, so the investor release is the primary record here; the US PlayStation Store showed the same two figures when we checked it on 23 September 2026.

The two prices

There is no third tier of the game and no collector’s edition of it. The only GTA 6 product above $99.99 is the $399.99 Goodtime State box Rockstar put on sale on 24 September 2026, and that is merchandise: its store page says “game sold separately”, and the editions page has what is in it. Both prices buy the same game on the same date: nothing in Take-Two’s announcement or on the product page gives the Ultimate Edition an earlier start.

What the extra twenty dollars buys

Take-Two’s announcement describes the Ultimate Edition as “an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story”, and Rockstar’s product page shortens that to “an exclusive collection of items” and then itemises it: sixteen items, from the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, the Shitzu Squalo and the ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy to engraved pistols, outfits and six shops and places. The editions page has the whole list, and which vehicles come with the Ultimate Edition the vehicles.

Two things people fold into the price are not edition-dependent. The Vintage Vice City Pack goes, in Take-Two’s words, to “all Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders and purchases before November 20, 2026”, whichever edition; and the free month of GTA+ is for digital pre-orders of either. Paying $99.99 buys the Ultimate content and nothing about timing.

Why you may be seeing a different number

Three reasons, and it is worth knowing which one applies to you:

• Your region. Take-Two published dollar prices. Local prices are set per storefront and per market, and Rockstar has not published a table of them. Your own store page is the authority, not us and not an article converting currency.
• The edition. A page quoting $99.99 as “the price of GTA 6” is quoting the Ultimate Edition.
• The $150 story. A widely shared claim about a $150 price tag predates any announcement and was never sourced to Rockstar or Take-Two. The announcement of 24 June 2026 settled it.

Will GTA 6 be $200?

No. No edition of GTA 6 costs $200, and none ever has. That figure comes from the period before any price was announced, when analysts were arguing in public about what a publisher could charge for a game this expensive to make, and $200 was somebody’s illustration of an upper limit. It was never a price, never a leak, and never came from Rockstar or Take-Two. The two real numbers are the ones above.

What we do not know

• Local pricing in any currency other than the US dollar.
• Whether the price changes after launch, in either direction.
• What GTA+ costs once the free month ends. That is Rockstar’s subscription page’s business; the US PlayStation Store listing says only that the month renews monthly and must be redeemed by 31 March 2027.
• Anything about a PC price, because there is no PC version announced.
