GTA 6, answered
Can you pre-order GTA 6, and where?
Short answer
Yes, since 25 June 2026. Both editions are on the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Games Store and at retail. Digital pre-loading opens 12 November 2026.

Pre-orders opened at midnight local time on 25 June 2026, announced the day before by Take-Two and on the Rockstar Newswire. Both editions are on the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Games Store and at retail.
What you get, and when
- Vintage Vice City Pack: the pre-order bonus. Take-Two’s wording is that it goes to “all Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders and purchases before November 20, 2026”. Rockstar’s product page lists what is in it: “the timeless two-tone ’55 Vapid Stanier sedan and garage alongside the world-famous Ocean Beach, decadent outfits and hairstyles for both Jason and Lucia, and an iconic weapon pattern that echoes the excess of the past”. The car has its own page here.
- A free month of GTA+: digital pre-orders only, “instantly redeemable” in Take-Two’s words, which before launch means Grand Theft Auto V and the other Rockstar titles the subscription covers. The US PlayStation Store listing adds two conditions of its own: the month must be redeemed by 31 March 2027, and it renews monthly.
- Pre-loading from 12 November 2026: digital pre-orders, one week before release; the PlayStation Store lists it as a seven-day pre-load.
- The physical box also lands 12 November, and contains, in Take-Two’s words, “a download code inside the box” rather than a disc; see the physical copy page.
The part worth reading twice
The Vintage Vice City Pack is not exclusive to pre-orders. It covers purchases up to 20 November, which is the day after release. Pre-ordering a digital copy therefore buys you two things over simply buying it on launch day: the month of GTA+, and the ability to pre-load on the 12th so the game is sitting on your drive when it unlocks. Whether that is worth committing money months early is your call and not ours. We are pointing it out because a lot of pages describing this bonus imply a deadline that Rockstar did not set.
Should you pre-order at all?
That is the question underneath the question, and the honest answer has three parts. The bonus is not the reason: you get it anyway if you buy by the 20th. The pre-load is a reason if your connection is slow, and it is the only thing on the list that changes launch night. And the price is the same before and after launch in everything published so far, so waiting costs nothing but the pre-load. What nobody can tell you is whether the date holds; when GTA 6 comes out sets out what has changed since the last delay and what has not.
Which edition
There are two, and Rockstar’s product page itemises the difference: sixteen items that only the Ultimate Edition carries, among them the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, the Shitzu Squalo and the ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy. See which GTA 6 editions there are for the whole list and what GTA 6 costs for the prices; which vehicles come with the Ultimate Edition has the vehicles, the Stanier included.
PlayStation, Xbox, or Rockstar’s own store
Sony’s blog post of 24 June 2026, co-signed by Rockstar, says the game “will play best on PS5” and that pre-orders on the PlayStation Store carry the free month of GTA+ for “any edition”; that is the platform holder talking about its own store, and it promises nothing about the other one. Take-Two’s release names all four channels without ranking them. The PlayStation Store listing carries a “PS5 Pro Enhanced” line with no figures behind it; what that means, and what is known about frame rate, is on whether GTA 6 has a performance mode.
What we do not know
- Prices outside the United States. Take-Two’s announcement gives dollar figures only; your own storefront is the authority for your region.
- Whether the Vintage Vice City Pack ever returns after 20 November, or is genuinely a one-off window.
- Where the pack’s garage alongside Ocean Beach is, and which weapons its pattern goes on.
- Whether Rockstar will confirm the unlock times the storefronts already show. What those timestamps say, region by region, is on what time GTA 6 releases in each region.
Where this comes from
Every claim above rests on one of these. Anything marked the platform holder is Sony or Microsoft describing their own store or hardware, not Rockstar. Anything marked reported is somebody else telling us what Rockstar said, and is treated as weaker than Rockstar saying it.
