Who are the voice actors in GTA 6?

Rockstar has never published a cast list for GTA 6 and has credited no actor for any role. One actor has now credited himself, which makes him the only name on this page, and even that comes with a limit worth understanding.

The one confirmation

On 13 September 2026, at the BAFTA TV Tea Party in Beverly Hills, an Associated Press reporter asked Stephen Root whether he was in GTA 6. Root answered Yeah, you’re going to see me in that. He added that his character had been in Rockstar’s marketing since what he described as the first rollout, almost a year earlier, and that too many people recognise his voice from King of the Hill for the secret to have held; Dexerto’s account of 14 September 2026, which we checked again on 23 September, carries the quotes.

Read that carefully, because the limit matters. Root confirmed that he is in the game. He did not say which character he plays, and the clip does not contain that answer.

Is Stephen Root Brian Heder?

Almost certainly, and it is still an identification rather than a confirmation. Root’s voice is distinctive, reporting, Dexerto’s included, has matched it to Brian Heder in Rockstar’s footage, and that recognition is exactly what Root said gave the secret away. The match is other people’s ears, though, not Rockstar’s word and not Root’s. On this site Brian exists as four official press screenshots, and all four are silent.

So this page files it as an identification, in the same way it files a vehicle whose badge is legible but whose name Rockstar has never printed: the reading is strong, the source is named, and it is labelled as a reading rather than a credit. An actor confirming he is in a game, plus a voice other people recognise, is not a credit.

Everyone else, including the one confirmed no

Nobody has been credited for Jason Duval, Lucia Caminos, or any other character Rockstar has named. Names circulate for both leads, some of them confidently, and they are not on this page. The reason is not squeamishness: a guessed name and a right name look identical to a reader, and there is no way to tell them apart until the credits exist. A name that turns out to be correct was still a guess on the day it was published.

The one name worth recording is a denial. On 5 April 2024, asked in an interview on The Movie Dweeb’s YouTube channel whether he voiced Jason, Troy Baker said he did not, pointing out that the character says a single word in the first trailer: He says one word. He says ‘trust.’ I want that guy, whoever it is, to get credit for his work, he added. That is a documented statement by the person himself, which is why it is here when the guesses are not.

Why Rockstar says nothing

This is the studio’s habit rather than an anomaly. The Extended Look ran 26 minutes 47 seconds, by our own count, with characters speaking throughout and not one name attached to a voice, and the product page, checked on 23 September 2026, credits nobody either. Expect the full cast with the game or just before it, not in a press release two months out.

• Which character Stephen Root plays, from Rockstar or from Root.
• Who plays any of the other named characters.
• Whether GTA 6 uses full performance capture or voice work recorded separately.
• Whether Rockstar will publish a cast list at all before launch.
