GTA 6, answered
How many GTA 6 trailers are there?
Short answer
Three pieces of official footage: Trailer 1 (4 December 2023), Trailer 2 (6 May 2025) and An Extended Look (27 August 2026). Rockstar has never published anything called Trailer 3.
Sources last checked 15 September 2026
Two numbered trailers and one longer showcase. Nothing has ever been published under the name “Trailer 3”, which is the actual answer to the question a lot of people are typing.
All three carry licensed music, and between them they are the only GTA 6 songs that are confirmed at all: twenty-one of them, listed by reveal on what songs are in the GTA 6 soundtrack.
Trailer 1 — 4 December 2023
Released a day earlier than Rockstar had announced, after it leaked. It introduces Lucia, it establishes Vice City and the state of Leonida, and it closes on a card reading Coming 2025 — a date that has since moved twice.
We hold 46 frames from it and have logged 69 sightings in them. The counts on this page are the database’s as of 23 September 2026, checked against it by the validator on every build, and they move as it grows.
Trailer 2 — 6 May 2025
Four days after the first delay was announced. Much wider than the first: more of the state, more vehicles, more of Jason.
47 frames, 76 sightings. This is where a large share of the vehicle database comes from, including the explosion frame at 1:57.93 that cost us an afternoon to identify.
An Extended Look — 27 August 2026
Not a trailer, and Rockstar did not call it one. It premiered on Netflix at 3pm ET and went up on YouTube and Rockstar’s own site at 9pm ET the same evening. It is the longest continuous piece of GTA 6 footage that exists and the closest thing to a gameplay reveal.
109 frames, 246 sightings — more than both trailers together.
So is there a Trailer 3?
No. Rockstar has never published anything with that name, and the Extended Look is what arrived in the window where a lot of people expected one. If you have seen a “Trailer 3” thumbnail, it is somebody’s edit, a concept piece, or a re-upload of the Extended Look under a more searchable title. There is a separate page on whether a Trailer 3 is coming, dated to the day we last checked Rockstar’s media page.
Where to watch them
All three are on Rockstar’s own media page, which on 23 September 2026 listed the three videos and nine short clips, alongside the ninety-nine screenshots and the two render bundles this site reads from; the same page carries the download links Rockstar provides for press. The trailers are also on Rockstar’s YouTube channel and, for the Extended Look, on Netflix. This site does not host or re-cut any of them: what it holds is frames, each with a timecode, and the frame is what every page here links back to.
The three sources that are not videos
Worth knowing, because between them they account for nearly half of everything on this site:
- The press pack — 99 screenshots at 3840×2160, stills rather than video frames. 277 sightings.
- The studio renders — 46 images from the download bundles on Rockstar’s media page, 21 sightings, the Ultimate Edition and Vintage Vice City Pack vehicles among them.
- The cover art and key art — 16 images, 1 sighting.
Six official sources in total, 363 frames kept, 690 sightings logged, each one carrying its source, and its timecode where the source is video. That is what the vehicle index and the locations are built out of, and how we work explains the method.
What we do not know
- Whether any further footage lands before 19 November. Rockstar announces these without warning.
- Whether the Extended Look is the last of it.
Where this comes from
Every claim above rests on one of these. Anything marked the platform holder is Sony or Microsoft describing their own store or hardware, not Rockstar. Anything marked reported is somebody else telling us what Rockstar said, and is treated as weaker than Rockstar saying it.
