GTA 6, how to

Is there a stock market in GTA 6, and how do you invest?

Short answer

Nothing in the official material shows a stock market, a broker, a ticker or a share price. The only money on screen is the pair of balances on the weapon wheel. Whether the two exchanges of Grand Theft Auto V return, and whether the story moves prices the way Lester's assassinations did, is unknown. Until launch, that game is the reference.

Where the footage shows it

The stock market was the quiet secret of Grand Theft Auto V: the biggest sums in the story were made not by robbing anything but by buying shares before a mission and selling them after. People will ask on launch day whether GTA 6 does it again. Nothing Rockstar has published says a word about it, and this page will not pretend otherwise.

What the footage shows

Money appears on screen once, on the weapon wheel at 17:50 of the Extended Look, as two balances side by side beside the meters. They are not labelled. Cash and bank is the reading the series suggests, and if there is a bank there is somewhere for an investment to sit; that is as far as one frame can be pushed, and it is already further than it should go. The phone exists and shows a message card at 23:57; the last game’s market lived on the phone’s internet, and this one’s could, and no frame shows a browser.

No ticker, no company name, no share price, no broker and no news item about a takeover is in any frame we hold. The in-world news at 1:03 of Trailer 1 covers a flipped car and thugs on motorbikes, which is not the financial pages.

What nobody knows

  • Whether a stock market exists at all.
  • Whether the story moves prices, as the assassination missions did last time.
  • Whether the two balances are cash and bank, and whether the bank pays anything.
  • Whether investing is a phone screen, a computer in a safehouse, or nothing.

How Grand Theft Auto V did it

This is the reference, not a prediction. Grand Theft Auto V had two exchanges, the Liberty City National Exchange and BAWSAQ, reached through the in-game internet, where you bought shares in fictional companies and sold them again. The GTA Wiki puts it plainly: after certain missions an investment could return a great deal, and an unwise one could lose as much. The missions that moved prices hardest were the assassinations Lester handed to Franklin, each of which hit one company and lifted its rival, and players who bought and sold around them ended the story far richer than any heist made them. None of that is announced for GTA 6.

What this page becomes on launch day

From 19 November 2026 this guide is rewritten from the release build: whether a market exists, how it is reached, what moves it and whether the story can be timed against it, each with the date it was tested. Until then the short answer at the top stands.

Where this comes from

Every claim above rests on one of these. Anything marked the platform holder is Sony or Microsoft describing their own store or hardware, not Rockstar. Anything marked reported is somebody else telling us what Rockstar said, and is treated as weaker than Rockstar saying it.
