Trailer 2 · snt-00033 · 1:39.67 · placeholder frame · signage · 921 × 432 px © Rockstar Games The frame at 3840 × 1728, scaled down to fit — never enlarged. It is delivered inside a 3840 × 2160 container and we have trimmed the letterbox, which is packaging rather than picture. The box marks the crop exactly as we measured it, and that crop is the detail alongside, at its true size.

A club whose wall is lit with the start of its name at 1:39 of Trailer 2, and whose name a banner across the sky spells out in full in the Extended Look at 18:30: NINE1NINE.

The lettering is on a lit back wall, pale on a purple ground scattered with small points of light, with a magenta arc sweeping across it. What Rockstar’s frame holds is N, I, N, E, a plain upright stroke, and the upright and diagonal of a sixth letter that the right-hand edge of the screenshot cuts off; the tops of all six are behind the cinema bar at the top of the frame. On the true pixel grid the sixth letter is an N: its upright and the diagonal leaving it match the second N of the same wall row for row. The fifth could be an I, a T or a 1, because the part that tells them apart is behind the bar. Under the name runs a second, widely letterspaced line in the same pale capitals, and on the true pixel grid it reads VICE CI before the right-hand edge of the screenshot cuts it off. VICE CITY is the obvious completion, but the completion is ours and not a reading. At the bottom of the crop the top of one head rises into the light.

Until 24 September 2026 this page read the wall as NINETI and called the club Nineties. The sixth letter is not an I: the I on this wall keeps one width from top to bottom, while the sixth letter is half as wide again in its upper half, running into the frame edge, and narrows to a single upright at its foot. NINETIES would need an I there, so that name is gone, and with it the joke this page used to make about the decade. Until 26 September this page also put the second line under the reading floor, from a measurement taken on a half-size copy of the frame; on the 4K master it is twice that height.

The Extended Look shows the whole name at 18:30 on a long banner across the sky, a gull above it and the top of a yellow parasol below, with a dark purple panel at its head reading NINE1NINE in tall condensed capitals, a numeral one between the two NINEs, and a smaller line beneath it too small to read. The banner itself reads WHY SIXTYNINE WHEN YOU CAN NINE, then an umbrella pole covers one character, then NINE. NINE1NINE fits the wall exactly: N, I, N, E, an upright stroke and an N. That the banner advertises this club is what the lettering says, not something the two frames prove on their own, and the name on this page rests on that match.

In front of the wall, outside this crop, people stand and dance in twos and threes under purple and magenta light, with a rope barrier on posts and a doorway lit red under a sign of its own; the going-out page holds that part of the same frame.

How to recognise it

  • NINE, an upright stroke and the start of an N lit on the wall at 1:39 of Trailer 2, cut off by the frame edge, the tops behind the cinema bar
  • NINE1NINE in full on a banner across the sky in the Extended Look at 18:30, a numeral one in the middle
  • A lit purple wall with points of light and a magenta arc
  • VICE CI in spaced capitals under the name, cut off by the same frame edge

These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work

What we still do not know

  • Whether the banner at 18:30 advertises this club: the lettering matches, and nothing else in the two frames connects them
  • What the smaller line under NINE1NINE on the banner says; it sits under the reading floor
  • Whether the club is enterable
  • Whether it can be owned
  • Which city it is in: the wall’s second line breaks off at VICE CI, and the completion is not a reading
