How do motorcycles work in GTA 6, and can you wheelie?

If one vehicle defines the trailers it is the dirt bike on its back wheel. The parade at 1:06 of Trailer 1 has them by the dozen, a press screenshot holds one mid-wheelie on a residential street, and the Extended Look puts you on a motocross bike in a race. What the material shows about riding is the showing off; what it hides is the handling underneath.

What the footage shows

The parade first. At 1:06 of Trailer 1 a dirt bike stands almost vertical on its rear wheel, gold rims front and rear over blue-purple bodywork, its front wheel up at head height and spinning; beside it another rider stands on the pegs, and a quad rides with its front wheels in the air and two people aboard. A press screenshot from Vice City has a competition-style bike held in a wheelie down a residential street by a rider in a head wrap and a cartoon T-shirt, one foot on the peg. That is street riding, and it is a stunt, not a race.

The race is in the Extended Look. At 18:34 the camera sits over the shoulder of a green motocross bike on a graded dirt track, the readout in the corner running a lap counter and a position out of twelve. Two bikes carry Rockstar’s own names, the Dinka Enduro parked outside Jason’s safehouse and the Principe Alvino V1, and the rest are on the motorcycle page by what can be seen of them. Nobody in any frame wears a helmet by obligation, and nobody falls off.

What nobody knows

• How a wheelie is held, and whether a stat makes it easier with practice.
• What a fall costs, and whether a helmet is automatic, optional or absent.
• Whether the police can knock you off a bike, as they could last time.
• Whether the parade is an event you can join, and whether the stunt bike is a class of its own.

How Grand Theft Auto V did it

This is the reference, not a prediction. Grand Theft Auto V put a driving skill under its bikes: in the GTA Wiki’s words it let you pop wheelies more easily and keep control in the air, and it grew by holding wheelies and landing big jumps squarely. The character put a helmet on automatically after a few seconds idle on a bike. The police could ram a rider off a motorcycle with ease, which made riding with a wanted level dangerous, and being knocked off by them was very often fatal. A parade of riders on their back wheels in front of a crowd is that skill turned into a spectacle.

What this page becomes on launch day

From 19 November 2026 this guide is rewritten from the release build: the inputs, the stat if there is one, helmets, falls and what the police do to a rider, each with the date it was tested. Until then the short answer at the top stands.
