GTA 6 launches on Thursday 19 November 2026. There is no single worldwide moment: it unlocks at local midnight per store region, starting in New Zealand at 11:00 UTC on 18 November. The timer below counts down to your own midnight, or to the store region you pick.

Most GTA 6 countdowns run to a single moment. There is no single moment. The game unlocks at local midnight in each store region, so the honest countdown depends on where your account is registered, and the one above lets you pick.
What the timer counts down to
By default it runs to 00:00 on 19 November 2026 on the clock of the device you are reading this on. For most people that is the right answer, because the PlayStation Store timestamps resolve to local midnight in every region that has been read so far. The exception is a country that spans several time zones: the store gives it one national timestamp. The United States unlocks at midnight in New York, which is 9pm on 18 November in Los Angeles, and Australia unlocks at midnight in Sydney, which is 9pm in Perth. If that is you, pick your store region from the list and the timer switches to the real timestamp.
The fifteen regional windows, and where each timestamp comes from, are on the unlock time page. New Zealand is first, at 11:00 UTC on 18 November. Mexico and Central America are last, 19 hours later.

Could the countdown move again?
It has moved twice already: from a 2025 window to 26 May 2026, and from there to 19 November 2026. The delays page has both announcements. Since then the signals all point one way. Pre-orders are open at a fixed price, the pre-load date is published, and the platform stores carry hard timestamps. None of that makes a third delay impossible, and if Rockstar or Take-Two announces one, the timer on this page changes the same day. The release date page carries the date and the sources behind it.
What we do not know
- Whether the Xbox Store follows the same region-by-region schedule as the PlayStation Store. Microsoft's own game page carries the 19 November date; its store listing, checked on 23 September 2026, shows the price and the pre-order bonus and no timestamp.
- Whether the store timestamps change before launch. GTAboom read the regional set on 7 September 2026; the US listing still read 05:00 UTC on 23 September.
- When a PC version arrives. There is no date to count down to, and the PC page says why.
Where this comes from
Every claim above rests on one of these. Anything marked the platform holder is Sony or Microsoft describing their own store or hardware, not Rockstar. Anything marked reported is somebody else telling us what Rockstar said, and is treated as weaker than Rockstar saying it.
