GTA 6, answered

What is the fastest car in GTA 6?

Short answer

Nobody knows yet. No official performance figures exist and the game is not out. Two supercars have been seen, the Grotti Cheetah and an unnamed red mid-engine car, and neither has a number. From launch day this page ranks measured top speeds from named testers, each with the video and the timecode, plus our own PS5 runs for the super class.

In Grand Theft Auto V, “fastest car” is the single most-read vehicle question on every reference site, and it has stayed that way for thirteen years. In GTA 6 there is no answer yet, and any page that gives you one is guessing. This page is where the answer will appear, and it says now how it will be produced.

What has been seen

Supercars are barely present in the official material. Two are on record. The Grotti Cheetah is parked on Ocean Drive in Trailer 1 at 0:32.57, and it carries the only confirmed name in the class: Rockstar’s own media page files studio shots of it. The second is a red mid-engine supercar from the Extended Look at 9:03.25, with no legible badge and therefore no name here.

Below the super class, the footage shows more: the Ubermacht Sentinel Classic, the Declasse Impaler ’80, a black muscle race car on the Leonida circuit, and a set of sport bikes and tuner sedans at the car meet. All of them are on the vehicle index, each with the frame it was read from.

Why there is no number

Three reasons, and none of them go away before launch.

  • The game is not out. Every figure in circulation comes from a leak, a datamine, or a guess dressed up as one. None of that appears on this site.
  • Menu stats are not speed. In previous games the in-garage bars and the speedometer both disagreed with the stopwatch, sometimes by a whole class. The handling data that would settle it sits in game files no console exposes, and there is no PC version at launch.
  • Nobody has driven the cars. A supercar with a perfect top speed and no traction is not the fastest car on a road with corners in it. That is measured on a circuit, not read off a table.

How the number gets measured

From 19 November, three things happen, in this order.

  • Named testers, cited properly. Community testers publish timed runs within days of launch; for Grand Theft Auto V one channel’s lap and top-speed tests became the standard that everybody, including the forums, cited for a decade. Every figure this site takes from such a run is listed with the tester, the video, the timecode and the method.
  • Three methods, never mixed. A timed run on a fixed stretch of road, a speedometer reading and an in-game stat are three different numbers. Each figure carries its method, and they do not share a column. Where two testers disagree, both figures stand next to each other with the gap between them.
  • The super class, driven here. The ten or twenty cars this question is really about we drive ourselves on a PlayStation 5, stock, on the same stretch of road, with the run recorded so anybody with the game can check it.

Every number is checked against the video it came from before it goes on a page: that the run was stock, that the road was the same, that the reading matches what the footage shows. A number without a source does not appear here. A blank that says why it is blank is worth more than a figure copied from GTA 5.

What we do not know

  • Which cars are in the game beyond the ones shown in official footage.
  • Whether the Cheetah in the trailer and the striped Ultimate Edition Cheetah are one vehicle with two liveries or two variants.
  • Whether any vehicle is locked to an edition, a mission or a purchase.
  • Top speed, acceleration and handling for every vehicle on this site.

Where this comes from

Every claim above rests on one of these. Anything marked the platform holder is Sony or Microsoft describing their own store or hardware, not Rockstar. Anything marked reported is somebody else telling us what Rockstar said, and is treated as weaker than Rockstar saying it.
