Race coupe number 88
Name not confirmed
Rockstar has not named this vehicle
So we describe it by what is actually visible in the footage. We do not invent a name to fill the gap.
When the real name is confirmed, this page moves to that name and this address keeps working.

A black coupe carrying race number 88, eleventh of sixteen on a wet circuit, seen square from behind with spray coming off its rear tyres.
One word on this page had to go on 18 September 2026, and it is worth keeping the reason. What comes off the rear tyres is spray, not smoke: the track is soaked, every car in the frame is throwing the same plume, and the race readout in the corner of the same screenshot puts the camera car eleventh of sixteen on the first of two laps. This is a circuit race in the rain, not a drift event, and the old description had it the other way round because a car at a slight angle with white behind it looks like a drift when the picture is small enough. The page was called the drifting muscle coupe until that day; the old address redirects here.
Square from behind, the car is dark all through rather than pale over dark. A large white 88 is laid across the rear window, its top cut by the crop. The rear panel carries a full-width unlit strip with a lit cluster at each end and a lit red bar in the middle of the boot lip above it, two badges low on the valance in the same raised lettering, and a line of smaller lettering between them, all of it under this site's floor for reading, and two round exhaust apertures under a cut valance. The left rear quarter is scuffed back to a red-brown layer.
There is no wing on this car; the one the old text described belongs to the blue coupe alongside it. Circuit kerbing runs along the top left of the crop, at the inside of the corner, not along the bottom. GTA 5's muscle coupes, the Dominator and the Gauntlet, carried this fastback tail with a full-width lamp panel, and that is the counterpart in shape; the badges that would name it are the ones too small to read.
How to recognise it
- Large white race number 88 across the rear window
- Full-width unlit strip across the rear panel with a lit cluster at each end and a lit red bar on the boot lip
- Two badges low on the rear valance and a line of lettering between them, under the reading floor
- Two round exhaust apertures under a cut valance
- Scuffed left rear quarter, back to a red-brown layer
The frame it comes from
The frame is Extended Look at 17:41.80. It is 3840 by 2160, and the vehicle occupies 422 by 216 of it. Also in it: the race circuit, a white race sedan, a black muscle race car, and a race car in green livery.
How this was measured
| Source | Extended Look, 17:41.80 |
|---|---|
| Frame | 3840 × 2160 |
| Crop | 422 × 216 — a small part of the frame |
| Image check | 23 September 2026 — crop checked against the frame |
| Text check | 23 September 2026 — 20 claims read against the image, 0 corrected |
| Read at | the true pixel grid, enlarged 3x with no interpolation |
| Lettering | Letter height | Contrast | Reads |
|---|---|---|---|
| 88 | 45 px | — | every character |
| the two raised badges low on the valance | 8 px | — | no |
| the line of lettering between the badges | 7 px | — | no |
These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work
What we still do not know
- The front of the car, which is in no frame we hold
- What the valance badges read
- The livery on the flanks
- Everything measured: top speed, handling, where it spawns
