Locations
Leonida Keys
An island chain south of the city, joined by a long bridge, with turquoise shallows, a reef worth diving and an iguana on the road.
The aerial is the defining image: a string of low green islands running out into pale blue water, a causeway linking them, boats scattered across the shallows and a seaplane banking low over it all. Vice City sits on the horizon behind.
On the ground the Keys are a different register from the city. A village street where an iguana lies on the warm tarmac while a mobility scooter and a bus go past, with the front of Chip's Body Shop behind. A wooden beach bar called The Rusty Anchor with a crab festival banner and a crowd on the deck. A boat party out on the water, jet skis tied alongside.
Under the surface is a reef with a sea turtle and a moray in it, and a row of stone columns on the bottom. Six screenshots, and three of them are about the water rather than the land.
How to recognise it
- A chain of low islands joined by a long causeway
- Turquoise shallows with boats and seaplanes
- A green iguana on the road in the village
- The Rusty Anchor, a wooden beach bar with a crab festival banner
- A dive reef with a sea turtle, a moray and a stone structure
The frame it comes from
The frame is a still from the official Press pack, which carries no timecode. It is 3840 by 2160, and the vehicle occupies 3840 by 2160 of it. Also in it: Mammoth Streamer216.
What we still do not know
- How far the chain runs, and whether you can drive the whole way
- Whether the reef and the wreck are explorable
- Which of the businesses on the strip are enterable
- Whether the Keys have their own radio, missions or activities
