A two-tone blue saloon sitting on enormous chrome wire wheels, lit by low sun, with a Gloriana plate reading EUL Y7 and its rear tyres smoking.
The car is a boxy four-door from the early eighties, painted light blue across the boot and roof with a deeper teal down the flank, and it has been lifted onto wheels far bigger than it was built for: deep chrome wire-spoke rims wrapped in low-profile tyres that leave the arches standing empty above them. Smoke is coming off the rear tyres.
The plate reads Gloriana across the top with a star before the word, EUL then a small orange emblem then Y7 as the number, and UNITED STATES along the bottom. A registration sticker sits in the top right corner. Most of this database wears Leonida plates; this one does not.
The tail lamps are wide horizontal lenses divided into segments, with a chrome bumper under them. Two raised badges sit on the boot lid, one either side of the centre. Enlarged, each stays a strip of shapes: six or seven characters on the right, and we are not going to transcribe them. Behind the car a street is going on: people on dirt bikes and a quad, murals along the wall, a woman leaning out of the rear window.
How to recognise it
- Boxy early-eighties four-door, light blue over deeper teal
- Deep chrome wire-spoke wheels on low-profile tyres, arches left empty
- Gloriana plate reading EUL, an emblem, then Y7, with UNITED STATES below
- Wide segmented horizontal tail lamps over a chrome bumper
- Two raised badges on the boot lid, neither legible
- Rear tyres smoking
The frame it comes from
The frame is a still from the official Press pack, which carries no timecode. It is 3840 by 2160, and the vehicle occupies 1306 by 799 of it. Also in it: a small income-tax office, Vice City, a modern muscle coupe, a red sport sedan, a stunt dirt bike, and Hawx side-by-side UTV.
What we still do not know
- What the boot badges read. Their length is consistent with the name on this page; that is not the same as reading them.
- Why this car carries a Gloriana plate when most of the database wears Leonida
- Whether the lift and the wheels are a variant or a modification
- Everything measured: top speed, acceleration, handling, price, where it spawns
