Magenta 1980s coupe

Name not confirmed

What the community calls it

Widely identified as the Declasse Tulip M100.

A community list puts a Declasse Tulip M100 one second after our frame, described by purple on the wheels and the body. That is the layout of this car. It is their identification and not ours. On 23 September 2026 a second source, GTA Wiki, was found to crop the same vehicle out of the same shot under the same name. That is what puts the name in this page's title, as their claim and not ours: two independent sources, one of them showing the same car in the same shot.

What supports it

  • Purple on the wheels and the body is exactly how this car is finished: magenta paint with large rims in the same tone.
  • 0:28 falls inside the same continuous shot as our frame at 0:27.
  • GTA Wiki crops the same car a moment later: magenta over large rims in the same tone, at the same meet, the boot shut as it is in ours, and a white number on the rear side glass and a decal across the rear windscreen where ours has them.

What does not

  • The source is at 0:28 and we are at 0:27, and in a moving shot a second is a different vehicle.
  • The source says purple; this car is magenta.
  • It does not mention what our crop shows most clearly: the large white 27 on the rear side glass and the script decal across the rear windscreen.
  • The same list puts a plain Tulip at 1:10, which we hang on another record. The two claims lean on each other.
  • GTA Wiki spells it Tulip M-100 and the list spells it M100; that is one name with a different mark in it, not two claims, and it is the spelling of the GTA Online model.
  • The name rests on the outline. The GTA Wiki traces the GTA Online Tulip M-100 to the 1980 Chevrolet Malibu coupe, and a square 1980s two-door is a common shape; no badge on our crop is legible to tie it to one maker.

Read on GTA-XTREME, September 18, 2026. They name this picture: “At 0:28, you can spot the Declasse Tulip M100 with purple on its wheels and body” -- one second after our trailer-1-t00-27_43, in the same continuous shot. The identification is theirs, not ours.

Read on GTA Wiki (gta.wiki), September 26, 2026. They name this picture: TulipM100-GTAVI-Trailer1.png, “The rear of a Tulip M-100 in the first trailer for GTA VI”: the magenta coupe on large rims at the car meet, pulling away with the boot shut, a white number on the rear side glass and a decal across the rear windscreen -- the same car as in our trailer-1-t00-27_43, a moment later. The identification is theirs, not ours.

We have not confirmed this. Our confidence in the identification: low.

When the real name is confirmed, this page moves to that name and this address keeps working.

A magenta 1980s coupe at a street meet in Trailer 1, seen from behind with its boot shut: a large white 27 on the rear side glass, a script decal across the rear windscreen and a rim painted to match the car.

A square-cut two-door coupe, three-box, in a strong magenta, seen from the rear three-quarter at a street meet. The lines are 1980s American: a flat boot lid, an upright cabin with a broad rear pillar, and a small rear side window ahead of the door glass. The bonnet is out of shot. The boot is shut. The raised lid at the top left of the frame, with people standing at it, belongs to a dark car beyond, and an earlier version of this page gave it to the coupe.

On the rear side window a large white 27 stands straight on the dark glass, read on the true pixel grid: the second character has a flat top bar with a diagonal running down from it. A small tick follows the number and a thin pale line runs under it along the foot of the window. There is no roundel around it, which is how an earlier version of this page had it. Across the rear windscreen a white decal in a script face stands out against the dark glass and does not come apart into letters. At the right edge of the crop a small pale strip sits on the flank just under the window line.

The tail lights are horizontal, two red lamps either side of the number plate, split by grey bars, and the rear bumper is chrome. A small mark on the boot lid above the right-hand lamps is far too small to read. The wheels are the loudest thing about the car: the near rear wheel is a large rim finished in the same magenta as the body, its spokes cut into a swirl, inside a thin band of tyre.

Around it, people are standing in the street. Behind the coupe, under that raised lid, which is dark with a band of teal and pink along its edge, stand a man in a white cap, a man in a dark T-shirt with an orange print and a man in sunglasses and a pale blue vest, and more legs show under the car. An arm shows in the door window at the right edge. In the bottom right corner is the chrome-edged nose of the pale blue lowrider, which has a page of its own.

The community name attached to this car, Declasse Tulip M100, is set out in the hypothesis block with what speaks for and against it. The GTA 5 counterpart needs care, because that game’s online mode had two Tulips. The plain Tulip was a four-door, which the GTA Wiki traces to the 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu. The Tulip M-100 came later, a square two-door the wiki traces to the 1980 Malibu coupe, and that is the one this outline fits.

Our frame is about a second earlier than the moment the community list names, in the same shot. The name stands on this page as theirs: in the page title as what fans call it, and in the hypothesis block with its sources, never as our own name for the car. The picture match is close, and the word that would confirm it is nowhere legible on the car.

How to recognise it

  • Square 1980s three-box coupe proportions with an upright cabin
  • Magenta paint, and a large swirl-spoke rim finished to match on the near rear wheel, inside a thin tyre
  • A large white 27 straight on the rear side glass, a tick after it and no roundel
  • A white script decal across the rear windscreen that does not resolve
  • Horizontal tail lights, two red lamps either side of the plate split by grey bars, and a chrome rear bumper
  • A small pale strip on the flank just under the window line

The frame it comes from

The frame is Trailer 1 at 0:27.43. It is 3840 by 2160, and the vehicle occupies 364 by 270 of it. Also in it: a green tuned sedan, a full-size SUV with an oval tailgate badge, and a lowrider with airbrushed flanks.

How this was measured

Source Trailer 1, 0:27.43
Frame 3840 × 2160
Crop 364 × 270 — a small part of the frame
Image check 23 September 2026 — crop checked against the frame
Text check 26 September 2026 — 47 claims read against the image, 8 corrected

27 24 px — every character
the white script decal on the rear windscreen 30 px — no

These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work

What we still do not know

  • The make and model. No badge in the crop is legible, and nothing on the body says a name.
  • Whether the 27 is a race number, a club number or decoration, and what the thin line under it says
  • What the script decal on the rear windscreen says, and what the small strip on the flank is
  • Everything measured: top speed, handling, where it spawns

A note on this record

Checked again on 26 September 2026 against the 4K frame. The boot of this car is shut: the raised lid at the top left of the frame belongs to a dark car beyond, and until then this page, its title and its address gave it to the coupe. The old address redirects here. The 27 on the rear side glass stands on the glass itself, with no roundel around it. The GTA 5 counterpart is now the Tulip M-100, the two-door; the plain Tulip was a four-door.
