Pump-action shotgun
A pump-action shotgun with a wooden slide and a one-piece wooden stock, aimed from the shoulder by a bald man in a checked shirt in front of a store at 12:13 of the Extended Look, and lying on green-lit tiles at 5:08. No name on it yet: the stamp on the receiver does not read.
At 12:13 of the Extended Look a bald man with grey hair at the sides, in a checked shirt with a watch on his wrist, stands in front of a store with its door open behind him and aims a shotgun from the shoulder: cheek down on the stock, finger on the trigger, in daylight and in focus. The small print on the pillar behind him, notices and two posters, is below the size we read lettering at.
The gun is a pump-action in the classic layout. The forend is a wooden slide under the barrel; the stock behind the receiver is wood too, one piece, with a curved wrist and a straight comb; receiver and barrel are dark grey to black. A bead sits on the muzzle, and the magazine tube runs under the barrel with a band clamping the two together just behind the muzzle. One barrel over one tube, no box magazine and no top lever: not the break-action shotgun of the press pack. There is a small stamp on the side of the receiver, a few pixels high, and it does not read. Where it sits in the series: GTA 5’s Pump Shotgun, a Shrewsbury gun, is modelled on a Mossberg 590 with a pistol grip and a rifle-style stock, according to the GTA Wiki; this one keeps a one-piece wooden stock.
The Moreland 850 Shotgun, named by a pickup prompt at 4:27 and shown only as a HUD icon, matches this gun part for part: a wooden slide, a dark receiver, a tube with a cap under the barrel, a bead, and a one-piece wooden stock with a curved wrist and a straight comb. Until later on 23 September 2026 this page set the two apart on the stock, calling this one a pistol grip; laid side by side they are the same shape. So this is the best candidate for the Moreland in the hand, and still not a reading: an icon is a drawing, and the stamp on the receiver that would settle it is a few pixels high. This page carries the pump-action with the wooden furniture under a description, not a name, until the game writes one on the gun.
The same layout lies on the floor forty seconds after the Moreland prompt. At 5:08 a pump gun with a wooden slide and a wooden stock lies on green-lit tiles, in the room of a police raid. The light is green and the gun is small in the frame, so the stamp and the band are beyond reading there, but the shape is this one.
Twelve seconds earlier, at 12:01, a masked woman and man stand at a petrol station kiosk. Whether that is the same moment, who this man is and who is in his line of fire, the frames do not show.
How to recognise it
- Pump-action: a wooden slide under the barrel
- One-piece wooden stock with a curved wrist and a straight comb; dark receiver and barrel
- Bead on the muzzle; magazine tube under the barrel with a band just behind the muzzle
- Aimed from the shoulder by a bald man in a checked shirt, in front of a store, at 12:13
- On green-lit tiles at 5:08, the same layout
The frame it comes from
The frame is Extended Look at 12:13.06. It is 3840 by 2160, and the subject occupies 1459 by 691 of it.
How this was measured
| Source | Extended Look, 12:13.06 |
|---|---|
| Frame | 3840 × 2160 |
| Crop | 1459 × 691 — a good part of the frame |
| Image check | 25 September 2026 — crop checked against the frame |
| Text check | 25 September 2026 — 51 claims read against the image, 5 corrected |
| Read at | the true pixel grid, 1:1 |
| Lettering | Letter height | Contrast | Reads |
|---|---|---|---|
| the small stamp on the side of the receiver | 8 px | — | no |
| the printed notices on the pillar behind the shooter | 14 px | — | no |
| the two posters headed MISSING at the foot of the pillar notices | 13 px | — | no |
| the receiver of the shotgun on the tiles | 3 px | — | no |
These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work
What we still do not know
- Whether this is the Moreland 850 Shotgun in the hand. The HUD icon at 4:28 matches it part for part, and an icon is not a name
- What the stamp on the side of the receiver says. It is a few pixels high and does not read
- Who the man is, and who he is aiming at
