Duke 556 Assault Rifle

The second weapon in GTA 6 with a name from the game itself. DUKE 556 ASSAULT RIFLE, read off a pickup prompt in an office tower.

At 25:07 the prompt appears over a body on an office floor: L1, then DUKE 556 ASSAULT RIFLE. The 556 is a calibre, 5.56mm, which makes it the first weapon in the series named after the round it fires rather than after a joke.

Duke is the manufacturer. Like Moreland on the shotgun, it is a name the series has not used before, which is worth noting on its own: the weapon manufacturers in GTA 6 are at least partly new rather than carried over.

The rifle is on the ground and partly obscured. An AR-pattern carbine appears repeatedly elsewhere in the official material — turquoise-sprayed on a rooftop, black in a jewellery store — and whether any of those is a Duke 556 the frames do not say.

The frame is Extended Look at ~25:07.13. It is 1920 by 1080, and the vehicle occupies 768 by 346 of it.

• Whether the naming convention means other weapons are named by calibre too
