The correctional facility
The prison. Five frames cover it: a badge, a visiting counter, a cell window, a watchtower, razor wire — and Lucia in an orange jumpsuit and handcuffs.
The strongest frame is the one with a person in it. Lucia stands cuffed in an orange jumpsuit with two other inmates behind her and an officer's duty belt in the foreground. It is the only official image that puts a protagonist in custody.
The rest of the material is the building. A gold badge reading CORRECTIONS, SHERIFF'S OFFICE, DEPUTY, DALE COUNTY, photographed close. A visiting counter with bilingual signage. A view out of a cell window onto an exercise yard with a tower over it. Rolls of razor wire against an evening sky.
Together they establish a functioning institution rather than a set: intake, visits, a yard, perimeter security, and a named county running it.
How to recognise it
- Lucia in an orange jumpsuit, handcuffed, with other inmates behind
- A CORRECTIONS badge naming Dale County
- A visiting counter with bilingual signage
- A cell window onto an exercise yard with a watchtower
- Razor wire along the perimeter
The frame it comes from
The frame is a still from the official Press pack, which carries no timecode. It is 3840 by 2160, and the vehicle occupies 3840 by 2160 of it. Also in it: The correctional facility and Lucia Caminos.
What we still do not know
- Why Lucia is in custody, and whether that opens the game
- Whether the prison is enterable outside of story missions
- Whether there is a wanted-level consequence that sends you there
- How it relates to Dale County, which also has a sheriff's badge
