Lucia Caminos

The other of the two leads, and the first woman to lead a Grand Theft Auto with a voice and a story of her own. Rockstar files twenty-three press screenshots under her, ten of them hers alone, and one of those puts her in an orange prison jumpsuit and handcuffs.

What Rockstar says about her

Rockstar’s character page starts with her father, who taught her to fight as soon as she could walk, and says life has been coming at her swinging ever since. Fighting for her family put her in the Leonida Penitentiary; sheer luck got her out. The page’s own summary of where that leaves her: only smart moves from here.

Two more facts come from the same page. Her mother has dreamed of the good life since their days in Liberty City, and Lucia intends to get it by taking matters into her own hands rather than waiting. And she is fresh out of prison and committed to a plan, whatever it takes.

That settles the question the orange-jumpsuit screenshot raised. The custody scene is not a mid-game arrest: Rockstar’s page places the prison in her past and starts her story on the way out. The correctional facility page carries the same frame.

Rockstar’s edition material names her sidearm as the Klose K17 pistol. That name is not in the press screenshots, so it stands here as Rockstar’s word.

In the press pack

Rockstar files her under People/Lucia Caminos. Ten screenshots are hers alone, thirteen are filed with Jason Duval, and together they make her the most-photographed person in the press pack alongside him. Of everything in the pre-release material, her name is the one with measurable search behind it already. The 1997 original let you pick four women on its character screen, Divine, Katie, Mikki and Ulrika, but none of them had a voice or a story, which is why she is the first lead in the sense that matters.

The ten solo shots do not settle on one register. She works a heavy bag in a gym, one arm driven into the bag and a black glove on the fist she holds up, her hair in a bun. She leans on the edge of a pool with towers behind, in aviator sunglasses with earbuds in, a strawberry cocktail beside her and a phone on a towel. She sits on a yellow sport bike at night outside a bar whose neon reads QUOR over BAR, the rest of the word above the top of the picture, beside an unlit vertical board whose letters read ODWINKS under the rounded foot of a letter cut off by the top of the picture: the Hoodwinks of the painted sign on the wall behind her. She raises a pistol marked 9mm beside her face at night while a bearded man aims at her through a narrow gap, a light under his barrel. She stands on a dance floor in a sequin top with her arms folded and a phone in one hand, under blue and red light. She leans out of the window of a car in a turquoise-lit tunnel, the lights streaking past, aiming a pistol back over the roof, with a police car and its light bar at the right of the picture and someone else at the wheel.

Outside Checks Cashed she carries a pink and purple gym bag whose lettering reads ERI before the fourth character runs under a seam, in a grey hoodie, with a pistol held low. She sits on a gym bench in a cropped grey hoodie reading BADDIE, headphones on and fingerless gloves, a barbell rack behind her. And she sits in a car at night in magenta light with gold hoop earrings and a palm reflected across the glass.

One shot is different from all the others. She stands in an orange jumpsuit with her wrists cuffed in front of her, hair in cornrows with two long braids, three other inmates around her and an officer’s belt in the foreground. It is the only press screenshot that places a protagonist in custody, though the first trailer opens on her inside as well, and it is the reason the correctional facility has its own page here.

In the thirteen shots with Jason she is armed more often than he is, in nine of them to his six: a pistol against his chest with the city behind, a pistol raised in a jewellery store, a pistol held upright beside her shoulder in a car while he sits at the wheel with one in his hand, a pistol aimed backwards off the back of a dirt bike with a police car right behind them, a carbine in one hand and a red case in the other as they stand facing a burning car. The last of the thirteen is the quietest: the two of them embracing at the water’s edge with the sun behind them, airboats and flashing lights beyond.

Who plays Lucia?

Rockstar has credited no actor for Jason or Lucia, and has published no cast list at all. One actor has confirmed himself: on 13 September 2026 Stephen Root said he is in the game, without naming a character, and reporting identifies him by voice as Brian Heder. Names circulate online for both leads; none come from Rockstar or from the actors, and this site does not repeat them. The one exception is a denial: Troy Baker, long named as Jason, said in April 2024 that it is not him. This section changes the day Rockstar names the cast, with the source linked.

Jason and Lucia

Rockstar’s synopsis is about the two of them as a pair, not about either alone. They have always known the deck is stacked against them; an easy score goes wrong; and they end up in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida, in Rockstar’s words forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive. That is the whole plot Rockstar has released, and it is the frame for every shared screenshot.

Thirteen of the press screenshots have both of them in it, and every one is on Jason’s page as well. In the order of the press pack:

A note on this record

Rebuilt on 22 September 2026 against the 4K stills, with a reading record on thirteen crops; the other ten shared stills were read the same day for Jason's page. Nine claims did not survive the true pixel grid. She does not throw a punch in a dim room but works a heavy bag in a gym; she sits on the sport bike rather than standing against it; she is not driving through the tunnel but leaning out of a window while someone else is at the wheel; the gym shot is a bench, not a weight machine; three inmates stand around her, not two; the pistol in the car is in her hand beside her shoulder, not in her lap; the pistol on the dirt bike is aimed, not fired; the bag reads ERI, not ERIS; and on the dance floor she stands with her arms folded. Four of those had been put right on the sighting records on 20 September without the page following. Checked again on 25 September 2026 in the fourth text round, which found ten more: she is armed in nine of the thirteen shared shots to his six, not as often; they face the burning car rather than walk away from it; the convertible is dark red; Jason has a claw hammer in his waistband, not a second pistol; the bar's neon reads QUOR with the rest above the picture, and the board beside it ODWINKS; the 9mm shot shows no car, only a narrow gap; one glove is in view at the heavy bag, not two; in the tunnel she aims to the left while the police car stands at the right, so the page no longer says she aims at it; the first trailer shows her in custody too, so the jumpsuit is the only press screenshot of it, not the only image; and GTA's 1997 original had four selectable women, so she is the first with a voice and a story.
