Sahara Arena
A large events venue that carries its name twice in lower case, lit at night, with a tilted board beside the glazed tower at its right-hand end carrying a ball emblem and a word that does not resolve.
The building is a large arena with a dark faceted facade, crossed by angular lines of orange, cyan and white light. The name sahara arena is lit in lower case, and it is there twice. Once at the left-hand end, white on the dark parapet of a low flat-roofed block in front of the arena, above a terrace edged in red light: there the word sahara runs 65 pixels wide on the 3840 by 2160 master and its s measures 13 by 18. And once at the right-hand end, greyer and smaller, on the fascia at the foot of a tapered glazed tower whose five floors of tall windows are lit warm and packed with racks and stock; there the same s measures 14 by 13. In both the word sahara is the brighter of the two, 250 against 226 at the left end and 196 against 182 at the right. Between the two names stands a curved building of four floors with open galleries, also lit warm.
Beside that tower, on a board tilted out from the wall, hangs a teal banner. On it, top to bottom: four white tapering slashes, one short one above and three longer ones fanning down and to the left, each separated from its neighbour by eleven to fourteen columns of cloth; an orange-cream round form with dark curved seams that the lower slashes cross; then a large word in heavy slanted capitals with a light outline, white on teal; then a pale cream band of 30 by 14 pixels whose interior marks are darker than the band itself, 154 against 225, and far too small to be characters.
The large word is the only thing on the banner anywhere near a legible size, and it does not come apart. Straightened on the master it is 66 columns wide and 24 rows deep, and in those 24 rows every single column carries 23 or 24 lit pixels: the mass is solid from edge to edge. Four seams show inside it, and the deepest of them reaches 139 in the red channel against a letter body of about 230 and a cloth of 105, so it stops a third of the way short of the cloth. The test is the name on the same building. sahara arena at the right-hand end stands at exactly the same contrast, 77 grey levels between letter and background against 77 for this word, and its letters are barely half as tall, and yet thirteen columns inside that name drop all the way back to the facade and every letter stands on its own. So it is not the size and not the contrast that stops this one; it is white bloom on a lit cloth. The banner stays a banner here. This page carried a reading of it until September 2026 and a second one for part of 20 September; both were withdrawn against the master, and a third suggested itself during this check and went the same way.
It appears in the night overview of Vice City, picked out in light alongside the Ferris wheel and the arts centre — which is how we know it is a landmark rather than a background building.
How to recognise it
- sahara arena in lower case, twice: on a low block at the left end and on the tower fascia at the right
- A dark faceted arena facade crossed by angular light lines
- A tilted teal banner beside the right-hand tower: four white slashes, a seamed ball, a slanted word 66 pixels wide, and a cream band — none of the lettering legible
- Picked out in the night overview of Vice City
The frame it comes from
The frame is a still from the official Press pack, which carries no timecode. It is 3840 by 2160, and the subject occupies 1612 by 475 of it. Also in it: a street sign for Palaestra Tower, Vice City, Vice City Arts Center, The Sumerian, a concert hall on the square, and the Galina opera house.
How this was measured

| Frame | 3840 × 2160 |
| Crop | 1612 × 475 — a small part of the frame |
| Image check | 20 September 2026 — crop checked against the frame |
| Text check | 22 September 2026 — 27 claims read against the image, 13 corrected |

These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work
What we still do not know
- What the banner says. It is a sports banner in a city that has basketball courts in another press screenshot and a named team, the Manatees, on jerseys in two more — and on 20 September 2026 a third, the clearest of them, turned up in Trailer 2 at 1:58.83, where MANATEES reads in full across the chest and the number below it begins with a 1 before a fist covers the second digit. The banner’s lettering is the same kind as those jerseys: heavy capitals with a light outline, white on teal. But the block of lettering measures 66 pixels wide at 24 high, and capitals of that weight and height run 15 to 20 pixels each, so it holds four or five characters and not the eight of Manatees. Its trim is cream-orange where the jerseys are pink. It reads as a different club in the same world rather than the same one.
