Commanding a dog

The source frame, with Commanding a dog marked
Extended Look · snt-00157 · ~1:57.01 · placeholder frame

A dog you can give orders to. A command menu appears in the corner with SCOLD, PET and STUDY on three buttons, and one of the three is greyed out.

At 1:57 in the Extended Look the bottom right of the screen carries a short list of prompts. DOG sits at the top on L2, as the context. Below it: SCOLD on circle, PET on triangle, and STUDY on R1. STUDY is drawn dimmer than the other two.

The layout is the same as the dialogue prompts elsewhere in the video — a stacked list, one button each — so it reads as a contextual menu rather than a one-off scripted moment.

Two of the three are self-explanatory. STUDY is not, and the fact that it is greyed out at this moment says it is conditional on something. Nothing in the material says what.

How to recognise it

  • DOG on L2 as the context header
  • SCOLD on circle, PET on triangle, STUDY on R1
  • STUDY drawn dimmer than the other two options
  • The same stacked prompt layout used for dialogue choices elsewhere

What we still do not know

  • Whether the dog is a companion you keep or belongs to a scene
  • Whether the dog follows, fetches, or fights
  • Whether there are more commands off the bottom of the visible list
