Gameplay
The phone
A text message from Lucia arrives mid-mission as a card that hangs in the world and tilts with the camera, rather than sitting flat in a corner of the screen.
At 23:57 a semi-transparent card appears in the middle of the frame, angled with the perspective of the scene so that the room shows through it. On the left is a cartoon avatar in a pink ring — a contact picture, not a photograph. Beside it the name: Lucia. Below that the message: "After Czr, he's in saferoom, 10+ guys, auto weps, explosives, sound military.."
Six seconds earlier Jason is holding a phone with the same conversation on it, so the card is the same message surfaced without the player opening anything.
Two things follow from this that the series has not done before. The first is the placement: a message anchored in the world rather than pinned to a screen corner, which keeps the player looking at the scene. The second is smaller and more useful — the message names a target, Czr, who appears nowhere else in the official material.
How to recognise it
- A message card angled in world space, semi-transparent, not pinned to a corner
- A cartoon avatar in a pink ring as the contact picture
- Sender named: Lucia
- The message names a target, Czr
- The same conversation is visible on a phone in the player's hand six seconds earlier
The frame it comes from
The frame is Extended Look at ~23:57.77. It is 1920 by 1080, and the vehicle occupies 730 by 270 of it.
What we still do not know
- Who Czr is
- Whether all messages surface this way or only mission-critical ones
- What else the phone does — a call prompt appears elsewhere, and a live stream is viewable from it
- Whether the avatar is chosen by the contact, as it would be on a real phone
