Weapons
Moreland 850 Shotgun
One of only two weapons in GTA 6 whose full name we have, and we have it because the game writes it on the screen: MORELAND 850 SHOTGUN, as a pickup prompt in the Extended Look.
At 4:27 in the Extended Look the player stands over a man lying on his back on a debris-strewn floor, the player’s own forearm large in the foreground. The man wears a dark plate carrier over a blue sleeveless shirt, blue jeans and dark boots, with a tan holster strapped to one thigh, and a bare, heavily tattooed arm lies beside a grey metal shelving unit. At the right edge a second figure in white lies curled on the floor. Over the man floats the prompt: an L1 button glyph, then MORELAND 850 SHOTGUN in white capitals.
That is a different class of evidence from everything else in this section. A weapon identified by its silhouette is a description; a weapon identified by the game’s own pickup text is a name, with a manufacturer and a model number. In GTA 5 the equivalent was listed simply as the Pump Shotgun, with no maker’s name attached. Moreland is a manufacturer we have not seen before in the series.
The gun itself does not show in this frame: whatever lies by the man’s hand is a dark shape in shadow. What the weapon does is settled by the HUD instead. At 4:27, with the prompt on screen, the icon top right is a semi-automatic pistol and the counter reads 17 and 80. A second and a half later, at 4:28.86, the icon is a shotgun and the counter reads 6 and 94: a barrel over a tube magazine with an end cap, a wooden fore-end, a dark receiver with an ejection port, a trigger guard, and a one-piece wooden stock with a straight comb. That is a pump gun in the classic layout, and the six is the tube. By 5:43 the counter reads 6 and 90: the tube is full again and the reserve is four shells lighter, which is what you would expect if the left-hand figure counts what is loaded. At 9:22 the same icon is on screen again, over 3 and 95; the reserve is higher than at 5:43, so this is not the same load carried on.
Until 22 September 2026 this page called the man on the floor a police officer and the scene a police raid. Nothing on him supports that: no lettering on the carrier, no uniform, and the small yellow patch on his chest does not read. Police are in this sequence, though: forty seconds later, at 5:08, a man in the same kind of carrier has the word police across his back.
How to recognise it
- Named by the game itself: the pickup prompt reads MORELAND 850 SHOTGUN
- L1 to pick it up
- Over a man in an unmarked plate carrier and jeans, lying on a debris-strewn floor
- A pump action on the HUD icon: tube magazine, wooden fore-end and stock
- Six in the tube, 94 in reserve at pickup
- Moreland is a manufacturer name new to the series
The frame it comes from
The frame is Extended Look at ~4:27.32. It is 3840 by 2160, and the subject occupies 1382 by 777 of it.

These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work
What we still do not know
- Whether Moreland makes anything else
- Who the armed men in this building are. One carrier in the sequence reads police; this one does not
- Whether the 850 refers to a gauge, a model year or nothing at all
- What the weapon looks like in the hand. Two pump guns with wooden furniture in this material match the icon part for part, one on the tiles at 5:08 and one in a shopkeeper’s hands at 12:13; neither carries a name that reads
