Weapons
Machine pistol with a compensator
A short black weapon with a long straight magazine and a ported muzzle device, held in front of the chest by a man in a white T-shirt at 9:10 of the Extended Look.
At 9:10 of the Extended Look a man in a white T-shirt holds a short black weapon in front of his chest with both hands, the lower edge of a grey paisley bandana at the top of the crop. He holds it canted, with the long straight magazine sticking out to the side: his right hand is wrapped round the weapon where the magazine goes in, and his left is under the front, below the muzzle. The whole frame, with his sunglasses, the palms behind him and a woman in a red bandana carrying a rifle beside him, is on the masks and disguises page.
The weapon is small enough to hold like a pistol and long enough to need the second hand. The receiver is a flat black box, a row of vents is cut into the barrel shroud ahead of it, and the muzzle carries a pale device with a port in its side, under a flat blade with a notched front end. The magazine is a long straight stick with a squared base. No stock shows behind his hand, and there is no optic. Nothing on it is lettered at a size that reads.
The crop is in hard daylight, so the black weapon stands out sharply against the white shirt, near the middle of the frame. Both hands are bare, and so are the forearms; the fingers of the right hand curl over the top of the weapon, those of the left are spread under the front end, and behind the right arm is open blue sky. The edge of the bandana at the top of the crop is grey with a white paisley print. No sling or light is fitted. Whether it fires fully automatic, what it is called and whether the muzzle device is fitted or built in are all beyond one frame.
In GTA 5 and GTA Online the Machine Pistol arrived with the Lowriders update, a TEC-9 with a barrel extension in the GTA Wiki’s reading, made there by Vom Feuer.
How to recognise it
- A short black weapon held with both hands, the second hand under the muzzle
- A pale muzzle device with a port in its side, under a flat blade with a notched front end
- A row of vents in the barrel shroud, ahead of the receiver
- A long straight magazine with a squared base
The frame it comes from
The frame is Extended Look at 9:10.56. It is 3840 by 2160, and the subject occupies 768 by 345 of it.
How this was measured
| Source | Extended Look, 9:10.56 |
|---|---|
| Frame | 3840 × 2160 |
| Crop | 768 × 345 — a small part of the frame |
| Image check | 25 September 2026 — crop checked against the frame |
| Text check | 25 September 2026 — 45 claims read against the image, 4 corrected |
| Read at | the true pixel grid, 1:1 |
| Lettering | Letter height | Contrast | Reads |
|---|---|---|---|
| any marking on the receiver or the magazine | 6 px | — | no |
These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work
What we still do not know
- What the game calls it, and whether it fires fully automatic
- Whether the muzzle device is an attachment or part of the weapon
- Whether a stock folds out behind the grip. Nothing shows behind the man’s hand
A note on this record
Checked on 25 September 2026 at 1:1, with the muzzle at four times as a magnifier. The hands were the wrong way round: the right hand holds the weapon where the magazine goes in and the left is under the muzzle, not round the magazine, and the magazine sticks out to the side because the weapon is held canted. The muzzle device shows one port, not a ring of them. The sunglasses, the palms, the buildings, the car boot and the woman with the rifle are outside this crop and now sit in the link to the page that shows the whole frame, and the line calling GTA 5's machine pistol the cheap sidearm of the street went, as the GTA Wiki does not bear out the cheap; what that weapon was is said instead.
