AK-pattern rifle
A black Kalashnikov-pattern rifle, carried by the crew in white coveralls in the raid near the end of the Extended Look: side-on at the shoulder at 23:18, and raised in a lift at 23:14 with a second one behind it.
At 23:18 of the Extended Look a man in white coveralls, a dust mask over his nose and mouth, holds the rifle at his shoulder side-on to the camera, in a corridor by the lifts under blue light. Everything that makes the pattern is in the one frame: a curved, ribbed magazine; a gas tube above the barrel with four round holes in its cover; a thin rod under the barrel; a tall front sight near the muzzle, open at its base; and a short muzzle device cut off at a slant. A rail runs along the whole top of the receiver, and the stock is a frame rather than a solid butt: a straight bar back from the receiver that turns down at a right angle at the shoulder. Both hands are in black gloves, the right on the pistol grip and the left under the front of the rifle, and on the wall between the lift doors two small lights glow one above the other.
Four seconds earlier, at 23:14, the crew stands in a lift with wood-panelled walls, in warm light, and here the colour shows. The man in front, in pale coveralls and a dust mask on yellow straps, raises his rifle to the right: black metal, the curved magazine, a brown pistol grip under his hand. He has a white plug in his ear and black gloves on both hands. Behind him someone holds a second one level, with a rail along its top like the rifle at 23:18.
The gold-plated AK from the press pack has its receiver and dust cover finished in gold; whether it is this rifle in another finish or a weapon of its own, the frames do not say. The assault rifle here is AR-pattern, with a straight magazine, and this rifle, with its curved magazine and the gas tube over the barrel, is not.
How to recognise it
- A curved, ribbed magazine
- A gas tube above the barrel with four round holes in its cover
- A rail along the whole top of the receiver
- A frame stock: a straight bar that turns down at a right angle at the shoulder
- A short muzzle device cut off at a slant
The frame it comes from
The frame is Extended Look at 23:18.32. It is 3840 by 2160, and the subject occupies 2457 by 1047 of it.
How this was measured
| Source | Extended Look, 23:18.32 |
|---|---|
| Frame | 3840 × 2160 |
| Crop | 2457 × 1047 — a good part of the frame |
| Image check | 25 September 2026 — crop checked against the frame |
| Text check | 25 September 2026 — 48 claims read against the image, 2 corrected |
| Read at | the true pixel grid, 1:1 |
These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work
What we still do not know
- Its in-game name
- Whether the gold-plated AK is this rifle in another finish, or a weapon of its own
- Whether the rail takes a sight; none is mounted on the rifle at 23:18
- Whether the stock folds
A note on this record
Checked again on 25 September 2026 at 1:1 on both crops; the rifle itself held throughout. Two things were wrong in the comparison: it described frames on other pages outside their links, and it gave the gold-plated AK a gold gas tube, which that page does not show; and it said this was not the gold AK while also saying the frames do not settle that. It now says only the second.
