Classic pickup

An open-topped green pickup with a roll bar and a spare wheel behind the cab, standing on wet tarmac under the neon of the Starlet Motel.

The truck is a short-wheelbase pickup in a deep green-teal with no roof over the cab: a windscreen frame stands at the front and a tubular roll bar arches behind the seats, with a spare wheel strapped to it flat against the bulkhead. The bed is short and straight-sided with a plain tailgate.

It rides high on chunky off-road tyres over steel wheels with rust-orange centres. Round tail lamps glow red at the corners of the bed, and the tailgate carries a line of lettering that the wet neon light will not let us transcribe.

A woman in red stands at the driver's side, the tarmac is wet and throwing colour back up, and the Starlet Motel sign is in the same frame with VACANCY, KING SIZE BEDS and LOW RATES on it.

The frame it comes from

The frame is a still from the official Press pack, which carries no timecode. It is 3840 by 2160, and the vehicle occupies 710 by 302 of it. Also in it: the Starlet Motel and Port Gellhorn.

What we still do not know

• The lettering on the tailgate. It is there; the neon and the wet take it.
• The name, and the manufacturer
• Whether the top is removed or the model has none
• Everything measured: top speed, payload, price, where it spawns
