Weazel News
Weazel News is back. The broadcaster the series has used since GTA IV runs the news in GTA 6, with a lower third, a clock and a headline about a dine-and-dash.
The frame, at 1:03 of Trailer 1, belongs to a news broadcast, and this crop is its lower third. At the left sits the Weazel block: WEAZEL in black on white over NEWS in white on red, a stack of black stripes beside it, and 10:34 ET on a dark strip below. Across the rest runs a red banner reading NO (OVER) TURNING ZONE!, and under it a white strip with the story in black capitals: COPS ARREST MAN WHO FLIPPED HIS CAR AFTER PEEWEES DINE AND DASH. It is a strapline, not a ticker. Above the lower third runs the footage itself: a wet highway seen from the air, a car on its roof in the middle lanes, yellow barrels scattered around it, a white van and a tan police car with its lights on and its door open, and a red LIVE badge in the top left corner.
A news helicopter in the press pack carries NEWS down its side and REPORTING THE RIGHT NEWS on a white panel under the open cabin door, and nothing on it names the station, so whether it flies for Weazel is open. Until 22 September 2026 this page put that line on the tail boom, and until 25 September along the upper fuselage.
A returning brand is worth noting on its own. Weazel was the news network of GTA 4 and GTA 5, and it arrives here with the same red-and-white block. Between Weazel, Shrewsbury and Vapid, the game keeps the world continuous with the previous one rather than rebuilding it. A second broadcaster, the Spanish-language Mega Noticias, follows a second later in the same trailer.
How to recognise it
- The Weazel News logo on the broadcast: WEAZEL over NEWS, white on red, with black stripes
- A red banner headline over a white strapline, with 10:34 ET on the logo block
- A strapline rather than a ticker
- A returning brand: Weazel has been in the series since GTA IV
The frame it comes from
The frame is Trailer 1 at 1:03.57. It is 3840 by 2160, and the subject occupies 3659 by 384 of it. Also in it: a white panel van with a lettered livery and a police car.
How this was measured

These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work
What we still do not know
- Whether broadcasts react to what the player does
- Whether there is a Weazel building on the map
- Whether the news helicopter in the press pack is Weazel’s
- How it relates to Mega Noticias, the Spanish-language station
- Whether the strapline carries real in-game events
