It is delivered inside a 3840 × 2160 container and we have trimmed the letterbox, which is packaging rather than picture. The box marks the crop exactly as we measured it, and that crop is the detail alongside, at its true size.

A street of murals seen from a moving car, with HAITI in one of them and AYISYEN FYÈ – proud Haitian – painted across the wall above.

The shot is from inside a car: dashboard, wipers and rear-view mirror in frame, a hand on the wheel. Along the left of the street every wall is painted. One mural carries the outline of Haiti in white over the blue and red bands of the Haitian flag, with HAITI beside it in pale capitals, the coat of arms with its palm, and a line of small yellow letters above the arms that sits under this site’s letter floor. Across the top of the same wall, in white capitals on blue, runs AYISYEN FYÈ.

Further down the street police cars stand with their lights on, and beyond them an elevated railway crosses the frame. The right-hand side of the street is open ground and fencing, not murals: the painting is on one side only.

Little Haiti is a real Miami neighbourhood known for exactly this. Naming the page after it is a reading of the mural rather than of a street sign, which is why the open questions below say so.

How to recognise it

  • AYISYEN FYÈ in white capitals across the top of the wall
  • HAITI beside the white outline of the country, over the flag's blue and red bands
  • The Haitian coat of arms with its palm, and a small yellow line of lettering above it, under the letter floor
  • Murals along one side of the street only
  • Filmed from inside a car, with police cars and an elevated railway further on

These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work

What we still do not know

  • Whether the district is named Little Haiti in-game
  • How large the painted area is
  • Whether the murals change
  • Whether this is the same district as the painted underpass

Also in these frames

Measured in the same frames as the images above, but without a page of their own. Same rule as everywhere else: what the crop carries, with the source and the timecode. The ones whose frame no page shows are collected in the frame.
