Giant letters reading VICE, weathered panels on steel lattice legs, against an orange evening sky at 0:39 of Trailer 1; the frame ends just after the E, so whether the word goes on is not in shot.

The letters are not silhouettes: the panels catch the light and show a pale weathered surface with rust streaks, the joints between panels visible, carried on steel lattice legs with cross-bracing. Power and telephone lines run behind them, showing in the gaps between the letters, and a city skyline sits low beyond the legs of the V. The sky is orange and pink, the sun behind cloud.

Each letter is built from flat panels: the V from two arms meeting in a wedge at the foot, the I from one tall panel in two sections, the C with its corners cut off, the E from a spine and three arms. Through the open side of the C and between the arms of the E the frames behind them show, posts and cross-bars against the sky.

The construction looks like that of the Vice City sign, and the frame ends just after the E, so this may be the same sign with its second word beyond the right edge. Nothing in the frame settles it, and a likely match is not a reading.

Both have their own page here for exactly that reason: collapsing them into one would be a guess, and separating them costs nothing. GTA 5 gave Los Santos the Vinewood sign, one structure on one hill; whether Vice City has one set of letters filmed twice or two sets is still open.

How to recognise it

  • Giant free-standing letters reading VICE
  • Pale weathered panels with rust streaks and visible joints, on braced steel legs
  • Power lines running behind the letters, a skyline low beyond the V
  • Built like the Vice City sign, in a different frame

The frame it comes from

These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work

What we still do not know

  • Whether this is the same structure as the Vice City sign
  • What the letters are made of
  • Where they stand
  • Whether either can be climbed
  • Whether the word goes on beyond the right edge of the frame

A note on this record

Until 22 September 2026 this page's own description called the letters silhouetted and put figures at their base for scale; there are no figures in the frame. On 25 September 2026 it stopped saying the word is shorter than the Vice City sign's, because the frame ends just after the E, and stopped calling the two a different time of day, since both are at sunset; the power lines turned out to run behind the letters, and the water below them is outside this crop.
