Pickup truck

A camouflaged pickup wading the Grassrivers with a caged trailer full of alligators behind it, a police SUV in the water on its bumper and a helicopter overhead.

The truck is a regular-cab pickup painted in a soft green and tan camouflage, driving through standing water deep enough to throw sheets off both front wheels. The grille is a heavy horizontal-bar affair with a badge at its centre, the headlights are squared clusters, and the bed behind the cab is empty.

What it is towing is the record. A caged trailer runs behind it loaded with alligators, several of them clearly visible with their snouts over the rail. A man in waders and a hat stands beside the trailer with something long over his shoulder. More alligators are in the water to the right of the truck, alive and swimming.

The wider press still is a four-way pursuit. A white police SUV is in the water immediately behind the trailer with its blue and red lights on. A police helicopter hangs overhead. An airboat is running the channel further back, and a second set of police lights shows beyond it. Wading birds stand in the shallows.

What we still do not know

• The name, and the manufacturer. The grille badge is there and is not legible.
• What the man at the trailer is carrying
• Whether this is a mission or a world event
• Everything measured: top speed, towing, price, where it spawns

A note on this record

Our sighting note described armed men in the bed. The bed is empty; the load is a trailer of alligators, and no weapon is provable. Corrected on 14 September 2026.
