The in-game social network

Trailer 1 · snt-00020 · 0:41.33 · usable frame · detail · 3840 × 2160 px © Rockstar Games The whole frame at 3840 × 2160, scaled down to fit — never enlarged. This is a press still of the subject itself, so the whole frame is the crop and there is nothing to mark.

The world has its own social network. Two posts fill the screen in the first trailer, each with a handle, a Follow button and a caption laid over the clip: a boat party in a square card, and an alligator at the edge of a garden pool.

At 0:41.33 of the first trailer a post fills the screen in the layout of a short-video app: a square card in the middle, as tall as the screen, with a blurred spread of the same picture filling the screen either side. Over the lower edge of the clip sit a round avatar, the handle DadBodSquad and a Follow button, with the caption under them: Ay Papi! Save some sugar baby for the rest of us! Comment and heart icons sit at the top right. The clip is a boat party: a man in a straw hat and swim shorts with his arms up on the deck, women with their arms up at the left, American flags on the rails, the skyline behind and an airliner in the sky.

About a second later, at 0:42.40, a second post fills the whole screen with no margins: the handle OfficialPOACH beside a round green badge, a Follow button, and the caption Stay Alert VC! Remember to check for uninvited guests before the pool party. The clip shows a man in a uniform shirt and cap leaning back on a long pole whose end is at the head of an alligator in the water at the edge of a garden pool, with sun loungers, a red parasol and a beach ball across the pool, a skimmer net on the paving and a white house at the right. The lettering round the badge is too small to read here.

Until 23 September 2026 this page said the post was shot and shown vertically, the way a phone does it, and until 26 September that the card was wider than it is tall. It is neither: the boat-party card is square and as tall as the screen, and the pool post fills the screen at the screen’s own shape. What dates the world is the app layout, the handle, the Follow button and the reaction icons, and that holds for both.

The livestream overlay that runs over the driving may well be part of the same system, but the frames do not link them, so the two have separate pages here.

What we still do not know

  • What the network is called
  • Whether the player posts or only watches
  • Whether it is the same system as the livestream overlay
  • Whether posts react to what the player does
