Security cameras

The source frame, with Security cameras marked
Trailer 1 · snt-00025 · 0:47.53 · usable frame

A wall of camera feeds with a timestamp and a camera name on each, seen during a robbery — so security footage exists in the world as something to look at, and presumably to avoid.

The screen shows a grid of six live feeds, each with a label and a running timestamp burnt into the corner, the way real CCTV writes it. The room is an office, and the robbery is happening in the building the cameras are watching.

In an earlier frame in the same sequence a single monitor shows one feed, filling the screen, with the same overlay style.

The material does not show a camera being disabled or footage being taken. What it does establish is that the game models the feed rather than implying it: the labels and the timestamps are drawn, not suggested.

How to recognise it

  • A grid of six camera feeds on one wall
  • A running timestamp burnt into each feed
  • A camera name on each feed
  • Shown from inside the room the cameras are watching

What we still do not know

  • Whether cameras can be disabled, looped or avoided
  • Whether being seen on one affects the wanted system
  • Whether the footage is something a mission asks you to take
  • How many buildings have them
