Going out
A nightclub dance floor at 1:39 of Trailer 2, full, with the venue's name lit large on the back wall and cut off by the frame edge; and in the Extended Look at 20:29 a club balcony where the glass in your hand comes with its own prompts.
The trailer frame is shot from the edge of the floor at head height. Thirty or more people are dancing in pink and purple light, close together, in front of a lobby with lanterns, lit door signs and a red-lit doorway. In the foreground a woman in a green sequined dress dances with her back to the camera, a man in a black shirt reaching towards her at the left.
On the wall behind, in large lit letters, is the venue’s name, or as much of it as Rockstar’s frame holds: NINE, an upright stroke and the start of an N on the top line, running off the right-hand edge, with a smaller spaced line beneath it that reads VICE CI before the frame edge cuts it off. A banner over the beach in the Extended Look spells the whole name out as NINE1NINE, and the club has its own page there.
The Extended Look adds the drink. At 20:29 a woman with a dark ponytail stands at a balcony rail over a club, a glass with a straw and ice in her right hand. Below her, dancers stand on a round stage ringed with white light, lines of warm light run round the floor, and concentric rings of blue and purple light fill the far wall. In the bottom right corner the screen offers DRINK beside an R1 button and DROP beside a circle button. The glass is an item with two actions of its own: drink from it, or put it down. The prompts are read on the interaction prompts page.
Nightclubs have been a business you could own since Vice City, where the Malibu Club was for sale as an asset, and GTA Online brought club ownership back. What this frame establishes is only that the floor is populated and the room is real; whether you can dance or own it is not shown; that you can drink is, at 20:29.
How to recognise it
- A full dance floor, thirty or more people
- Pink and purple lighting
- NINE, an upright stroke and the start of an N lit on the back wall, cut off by the frame edge, with a smaller line beneath it
- Lit door signs and lanterns along the back of the room
- A club balcony at 20:29 of the Extended Look, a glass in hand, DRINK on R1 and DROP on circle at the bottom right
The frame it comes from
The frame is Trailer 2 at 1:39.67. It is 3840 by 2160, and the subject occupies 3840 by 1684 of it. Also in it: Nine1Nine and a nightclub dance floor.
How this was measured
| Source | Trailer 2, 1:39.67 |
|---|---|
| Frame | 3840 × 2160 |
| Crop | 3840 × 1684 — most of the frame |
| Image check | 25 September 2026 — crop checked against the frame |
| Text check | 26 September 2026 — 34 claims read against the image, 3 corrected |
| Read at | the true pixel grid, 1:1 |
| Lettering | Letter height | Contrast | Reads |
|---|---|---|---|
| NINE | 170 px | — | every character |
| the fifth sign, an upright stroke whose top is behind the cinema bar | 170 px | — | no |
| the sixth sign, the upright and the diagonal of an N, cut off by the right-hand frame edge | 170 px | — | in part |
| VICE CI | 40 px | — | in part |
| DRINK | 37 px | — | every character |
| R1 | 26 px | — | every character |
| DROP | 37 px | — | every character |
These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work
What we still do not know
- Whether the player can dance, as in GTA Online
- Whether the club can be owned
- What drinking does: the prompt at 20:29 says you can, not what follows
- Which other clubs in the material are enterable
A note on this record
Until 22 September 2026 this page had the woman in the foreground turning towards the camera and read the second line on the wall in full; she faces away, and the line breaks off at VICE CI at the frame edge. Until 26 September 2026 it called that line too small to read, from a measurement on a half-size copy; on the 4K master it is not. Until 24 September it read the name on the wall as NINETI; the sixth letter is an N. On 25 September 2026 the series note was corrected: owning a nightclub goes back to Vice City's Malibu Club.
Every frame we have
Also in these frames
Measured in the same frames as the images above, but without a page of their own. Same rule as everywhere else: what the crop carries, with the source and the timecode. The ones whose frame no page shows are collected in the frame.
