Ocean View Hotel
Neon reading OCEAN VIEW at night, with a police officer standing in front of it and a woman kneeling on the boot of a patrol car beside him.
The letters are large and pink, lit at full brightness above the entrance, and the frame catches them at night from below. In the crop the name is only partly clear: the first two letters hide behind the officer, the word after it behind the woman kneeling on the boot, so what reads is the run from the third letter to the first of the next word. The whole hotel front is washed in the same pink, windows and all.
A uniformed officer stands in the foreground in a short-sleeved light blue shirt with a badge, sunglasses and a dark cap, hands at his belt. Beside him a woman in a bikini, one arm tattooed and long braids falling down her back, kneels on the boot of a patrol car. The car behind them is black and white with its light bar on, three more women stand beside it, one in a yellow mesh dress holding up a phone, and a second officer stands at the far door with a hand on a woman’s arm; the car’s own lettering is on that page, which holds that crop.
The name is plain and descriptive, a hotel promising the sea, and it is the one the page can read. A second, vertical hotel sign stands further along the block at the right edge of the frame, and the deco block behind the car carries a marquee of its own; neither is inside this crop, and the strip they stand on is on the Ocean Drive page.
How to recognise it
- OCEAN VIEW in large pink neon above the entrance, partly hidden by the people in front
- Photographed at night from below
- A uniformed officer in the foreground, hands at his belt
- A woman in a bikini kneeling on the boot of a patrol car
The frame it comes from
The frame is a still from the official Press pack, which carries no timecode. It is 3840 by 2160, and the subject occupies 1612 by 475 of it. Also in it: Vice City and a police car.
How this was measured
| Source | Press pack |
|---|---|
| Frame | 3840 × 2160 |

| Image check | 25 September 2026 — crop checked against the frame |
| Text check | 27 September 2026 — 26 claims read against the image, 4 corrected |

These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work
What we still do not know
- Whether the hotel is enterable
- Whether this is the same building as another named hotel nearby
- What the police are there for
- Its exact position on the strip
A note on this record
Until 22 September 2026 this page said nothing on the vertical sign further along the block resolved and that it belonged to another trailer; it is in this frame, outside this page's crop, and it is read where its own crop is. On 25 September 2026 the scene beyond the crop moved into links to the pages that carry it, and a claim that Ocean View is a well-known real hotel name came out: we found no source for it.
