An older man in loud shirts who turns up in four official screenshots, and whose name is on a cap Jason wears: Brian's Boat Works & Marina.

The four press screenshots give a consistent picture: green mirrored glasses, grey hair pulled back, gold jewellery, and a shirt with something printed on it in every single frame. He leans out of the door of a light-coloured car with a younger man in the passenger seat. He stands at a bar under string lights in a sleeveless green top with cans on the rail. He holds a ledger or notebook while a woman in a purple top stands beside him. And he stands beside a pickup in a red floral shirt, talking to Jason Duval and a blonde woman.

The strongest thread runs through someone else's clothing. Jason wears a cap reading Brian's Boat Works & Marina, and the same name is painted on the fuselage of the seaplane in another shot. A named older man, a named business with his first name on it, and a protagonist wearing the cap: the material connects the three without spelling the connection out.

The fourth shot is the one that puts him and Jason in the same frame, outdoors, mid-conversation, with a hand on Jason's shoulder. That is as close as the official material comes to defining the relationship.
