Trailer 1 · snt-00047 · 0:49.54 · usable frame · detail · 2035 × 1188 px © Rockstar Games The whole frame at 3840 × 2160, scaled down to fit — never enlarged. The box marks the crop exactly as we measured it, and that crop is the detail alongside, at its true size.

Police body-worn camera footage used as a camera angle in its own right, with the timestamp and an ID line burnt into the corner.

The image has the look of a body camera and not of the game’s own camera: a wide lens, blown highlights around a bright doorway, and shadows that sink into flat black. Until 26 September 2026 this page called the light in the doorway daylight; a still cannot tell daylight from a strong lamp, and the overlay puts the time just before midnight. It also promised heavy compression in the shadows, which the crop does not show at full size.

The overlay sits top right in a monospaced face. The first line reads 08-04 23:58:46 -0500, a date, a time and a timezone offset; until 23 September 2026 this page had a point instead of the last colon. The second reads BODY 3 followed by a code, X6070511N. Until 26 September this page called them a unit and a serial, which is more than the overlay says. A yellow aperture mark sits beside them.

In the crop an officer in dark clothing, head and arm at the left edge, has a hand on the side of a man in a pale vest, who is seen from behind in a bright doorway. Two red cords run down from the nape of the neck in a V across the back of the vest. A second figure in dark clothing fills the right foreground, with a large P on the dark cloth cut by the edge of the crop. Nothing of the rest of the word is left in the frame; until 26 September this page printed it as POLICE.

The crop takes the upper right of the frame, from the first officer’s head to the figure in the foreground, and the overlay sits in its top right corner where a body camera burns it in. Until 26 September this page called it the right half of the frame and started it at the man’s back. What the frame does not show is where this is: a bright doorway, pale walls, nothing that names a street or a station, and no game HUD anywhere, because the whole picture is the camera’s own feed.

How to recognise it

  • Wide lens with blown highlights around a bright doorway
  • Monospaced overlay top right: date, time and timezone offset
  • BODY 3 and a code on the second line
  • A yellow aperture mark beside the overlay
  • An officer at the left edge with a hand on a man in a pale vest, and a figure with a large P in the right foreground

The frame it comes from

What we still do not know

  • Whether bodycam is a cutscene device or something you can watch in play
  • What BODY 3 and the code after it stand for
  • What the yellow aperture mark belongs to
  • Whether the timestamp is in-fiction chronology or dressing
