Vented-rib revolver

A revolver with a ventilated rib, a full underlug and a fluted cylinder, held against a leather vest with a motorcycle club patch by a hand with a rose tattoo.

The first crop catches the revolver from close range, in the third of the press pack’s Ambrosia stills, pointing down and to the left. The cylinder is fluted and closed in the frame, the front of two chambers showing at its face. Along the top of the barrel runs a raised rib cut through with rectangular vents, and below the barrel a full-length underlug; the barrel carries a line of lettering, and the underlug a smaller one, both under this site’s floor for lettering, so neither is read here. At the back of the frame a notched rear sight sits on the top strap with the hammer spur curving up behind it, and a round maker’s mark with a device inside it is stamped on the frame beside a knurled latch.

The hand holding it has a rose tattooed on its back above the knuckles, red with green leaves, and a black manicure, and the index finger lies along the frame outside the trigger guard rather than on the trigger. It rests against a black leather vest carrying a pale embroidered patch shaped like an inverted triangle, with a dark device in the middle and embroidered lettering along two of its edges that sits under this site’s floor for reading. A gold chain and a small gold cross hang against the vest beside the barrel. This is from the Ambrosia press stills, where the motorcycle club appears.

The barrel runs off the bottom edge of the frame, so its length is not determinable, and the device inside the roundel does not come apart at this size.

The second image is Rockstar’s own: a studio render from the Ultimate Edition Benefits bundle on its media page, filed under HAWK_AND_LITTLE_MORGAN_REVOLVERS, which gives Hawk & Little as the maker and Morgan as the model. Rockstar’s product page lists them among the Ultimate Edition’s items as the Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers: His and hers versions of this powerful revolver with classic Vice City stylings sourced from the Vercetti Estate. It shows a long-barrelled silver revolver held out towards the camera, the hand sharp and the arm behind it soft. The cylinder is fluted, with two chamber mouths showing at its face, and the underlug runs the full length of the barrel to the muzzle, where a ramp front sight with a red insert is pinned to the rib. A knurled latch sits in a slot just ahead of the frame, the grip is black and stippled, and the index finger is inside the trigger guard. A short line of characters stamped on the frame above the trigger guard is under this site’s floor, so it is not read here.

Over the barrel sits a large telescopic sight in two rings on a long base, with a small device engraved at the front of the base. The turret on top carries a graduated scale, and the cap of the turret on the side carries arrows and a line of small lettering, both under the floor as well; a ridged ring sits near the eyepiece.

Side by side, the two revolvers share the fluted cylinder and the full underlug, and part on the rib: in the render it is solid from the front sight back to the scope base, where on the Ambrosia revolver it is cut through with vents. The name in Rockstar’s file name belongs to the render, and a shared category is not an identification, so this page does not give that name to the revolver in Ambrosia.

Hawk & Little is not a new name. In GTA 5 and GTA Online it is the maker of the Combat Pistol, and in GTA Online of the Heavy Revolver, which the GTA Wiki matches to a Dan Wesson replica with elements of a Taurus Raging Bull, such as the barrel. That makes the Morgan the second revolver from the same fictional maker, and it says nothing more about the one in Ambrosia.

The frame is a still from the official Press pack, which carries no timecode. It is 3840 by 2160, and the subject occupies 1344 by 864 of it. Also in it: Ambrosia.

What we still do not know

• The barrel length of the Ambrosia revolver. It runs out of frame.
• Whether the Ambrosia revolver is the Hawk & Little Morgan of Rockstar’s render. Both have a fluted cylinder and a full underlug, and their ribs differ.
• Its calibre, and what the lettering along the barrel says; at this size it does not come apart.
• What the device inside the maker’s mark is. It does not come apart at this size.

A note on this record

Rebuilt on 22 September 2026 against the 4K press still, with a reading record on the crop. One correction: the page's summary line still called the cylinder fluted after the text had been corrected to plain on 20 September; it is plain everywhere now. Neither the patch lettering nor the maker's roundel reads: measured letter by letter with the lines levelled, the embroidered capitals sit under this site's letter floor, and until 27 September 2026 this page printed them as ANOTHER DAY and MOTORCYCLE. Our own earlier note called this a long-barrel revolver; that was more than the image supports. Checked again on 25 September 2026 at 1:1, with the crop widened to hold the barrel and the whole tattoo. Three things were wrong. The cylinder is fluted, not plain, and it is closed in the frame, not swung out on its crane; the change of 20 September was the wrong way round. The rib is vented: the vents sit on the part of the barrel the old crop cut off, which is why the name of this page always said so. And the barrel runs off the bottom edge of the frame, not the left edge. The patch is embroidered cloth on a leather vest, not a leather patch, and the link to the Ambrosia stills pointed at the county page. The comparison with GTA 5's Heavy Revolver went; in its place is what the GTA Wiki says about Hawk & Little's revolver in GTA Online. Checked again the same day against the second image, Rockstar's render, which the page showed without describing it. Its crop was widened to hold the whole scope, and its caption corrected: the rib there is solid rather than vented, and the scope is large rather than small. The label under it called the shot signage; it is a three-quarter front view. And the line calling this the pattern of a modern double-action revolver went, as the action cannot be seen in a still.
