Hurricane Roxy
A weathered timber arrow sign inside a bar, painted HURRICANE over ROXY, with a third line that a customer's head is standing in front of.
The sign is a plank arrow, bleached grey and pointing right, mounted high on a blue-painted post inside a bar. HURRICANE runs across the top board in dark painted capitals and ROXY across the one below it. A third line starts under that and only the letters TH survive: a man with his arm raised is standing in front of the rest of it.
Directly above it, on the same post, a small printed notice reads Refill Your Drink Here. Around it the walls carry the usual bar collection: number plates from Leonida and Gloriana, a Patriot beer sign, a cerveza sign.
What the sign is for, we do not know. On the Gulf coast a board like this usually marks a named storm and how high the water came, which would make Roxy a hurricane rather than a bar. It could equally be the bar’s own name on a novelty arrow. The third line would probably settle it and it is behind someone’s head.
How to recognise it
- HURRICANE over ROXY in dark painted capitals on a bleached plank arrow
- A third line beneath, of which only TH is visible
- A Refill Your Drink Here notice on the post above it
- Number plates, a Patriot beer sign and a cerveza sign on the surrounding walls
The frame it comes from
The frame is Trailer 2 at 1:30.37. It is 3840 by 2160, and the subject occupies 537 by 313 of it. Also in it: a bar under neon.
How this was measured

| Image check | 23 September 2026 — crop checked against the frame |
| Text check | 23 September 2026 — 16 claims read against the image, 0 corrected |

These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work
What we still do not know
- Whether this is the bar’s name or a sign about a storm. The page was written as the first and the frame does not say so.
- What the third line reads
- What the bar itself is called, if it is not this
Also in these frames
Measured in the same frames as the images above, but without a page of their own. Same rule as everywhere else: what the crop carries, with the source and the timecode. The ones whose frame no page shows are collected in the frame.
