A race car at night with KEMUKAWA across its rear panel beside the same name in Japanese, underbody lighting throwing blue onto the road, and a name that sits where a sponsor's name sits.

The back of a race car at night, covered end to end in an airbrushed livery in browns, reds and pinks with tentacles running through it. Four round tail lamps, two a side, burn pink through it; the right-hand pair is half out of the crop.

Across the rear panel above the lamps, in dark capitals on a white block, is KEMUKAWA. Before it, on a red block, sit two Japanese characters, 煙川, the characters for smoke and river, which read kemukawa: the same name twice, once in each script. Directly beneath the white block runs a much smaller line of capitals, under this site’s floor for lettering, so what it says is our own reading on the sighting and is not printed here. Its position, a tag line under a name at the back of a race car, is where a sponsor’s product line goes and not where a manufacturer’s badge goes.

The rear window carries a large gold blackletter VB with a smaller line beneath it that does not resolve, the same mark the white touring car ahead of the camera carries at 17:41 on the circuit; whether it is a team, a crew or a district we cannot say. On the wing, two names in white beside a strip of purple LEDs sit at or under the floor and are recorded as our own readings. Low on the rear panel a script signature begins Strap and runs into the airbrushing.

The blue on the road under the car is underbody lighting, not exhaust. The plate reads MTW and VC8 with an emblem between them, at a size that clears the floor. The word on its top band and the slogan on its bottom band do not: measured with the line level, the top band’s capitals are well under this site’s floor, and until 25 September 2026 this page gave them as read.

Whether Kemukawa is a manufacturer or a sponsor is the open question, and the frame leans one way: the name is on a decal panel among other decals, in two scripts, with a tag line under it. GTA 5’s race cars carried their sponsors the same way, in panels across the tail, with the maker’s badge somewhere else and smaller. No maker’s badge is legible anywhere on this car.
