Dark flatbed truck

A light truck with an open, slat-sided drop-side body, seen from the left rear in deep shadow at the left edge of a frame from the Extended Look, its front cut off by the frame edge.

This is a working truck, seen from the left rear, and the frame cuts it: its front runs out of the left edge of the picture, so the crop holds the cab, the bed and the rear. Behind the cab sits an open drop-side body with slatted side rails, three pale horizontal slats in each of four bays between dark posts, catching just enough light to count. Until 23 September 2026 this page called them boards; at this size they read more like metal than wood, and the page no longer says either. A dark tailboard faces the camera across the rear, with a lamp at each corner and a pale plate between them. Whether the bed floor is flat is not visible: the rails hide it.

The frame is dark. Most of the vehicle is in shadow and the colour cannot be read: it looks black here, and the numbers off the master give a near-black with a faint blue cast, which is what any dark paint gives in this light. What survives the shadow is the silhouette and the body type, and those are not in doubt. A steel wheel under the bed catches the light; two more wheels, under the cab and under the tailboard, are dark shapes in the shadow.

It is at a yellow kerb in front of a breeze-block wall, and the cab of a black pickup behind it shows above the bed. The truck sits at the edge of a frame from a four-star chase in the Extended Look, and nothing in the crop ties it to the chase.
