Basketball

Two outdoor court surfaces in blue and green on a raised deck, with a player in pink on the blue one, arms raised towards the basket, a ball in the air and a group on the green. Not a prop — a place.

The press screenshot is shot from above. Two court surfaces sit side by side on a raised deck: a blue court with a white three-point arc and key lines, running off the left and bottom edges of the crop, and a green surface beside it with the painted key of a second court at its left edge. The one backboard in the crop stands on a pole at the far edge of the blue court, facing across it, white with a red-outlined square and the hoop hanging below it.

On the blue court a player in a pink top and dark shorts stands well out from the basket with both arms raised, facing it. On the green surface four people stand or sit around: somebody sits against the low wall at the back, a woman in a white skirt bends forward beside a teal bag, a man in a white vest and grey shorts stands near the edge of the blue court, and a shirtless man in white and blue shorts holds a ball at his side. A second ball hangs in the air beside the head of the man in the vest, at the height of the hoop in the picture. Nothing in the still fixes how high it really is, so it cannot say whether this is a shot on its way from the player in pink or a ball tossed on the green. A yellow bottle lies on its side near the edge of the blue court, with a red one standing beside it.

Behind the courts a tall green fence runs along the top of a low white wall, with palms and cars beyond it, and a white structure with a slatted top fills the lower right corner of the crop. The people are dressed for it, vests, shorts and trainers, and nobody stands at the fence watching: until 23 September 2026 this page had onlookers along it.

How this was measured

These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work

What we still do not know

• Whether it is a playable minigame or an animation
• Whether you can join a game in progress
• Whether there is a scoring system or betting
• How many courts are in the world
