Freight train
Name not confirmed
Rockstar has not named this vehicle
So we describe it by what is actually visible in the footage. We do not invent a name to fill the gap.
When the real name is confirmed, this page moves to that name and this address keeps working.

A freight train on a steel through-truss bridge in Mount Kalaga National Park: a diesel locomotive in dark blue with a broad yellow band along its flank, and open cars with a heaped dark load behind it.
A freight train is on a steel through-truss bridge high over the river, seen from below and along the span so the ironwork cuts across it. A still cannot show which way it is going, or whether it is moving at all.
This page once said there was no locomotive in the picture. There is one, at the left-hand end of the train: a hood unit in dark blue with a broad yellow band along its flank, the cab at the outer end with its windows facing out and the long hood behind it. Behind the locomotive come open cars with a heaped dark load. The truss hides the couplings and the car ends, so how many there are cannot be counted, and further along the lower part of a taller reddish-brown car with vertical ribs shows at the top of the crop.
Nothing on it can be read. Along the yellow band run the vertical seams of the hood’s access doors, with truss members crossing in front of them, and near the cab a short run of dark marks sits on the yellow; it is far below this site’s floor for lettering, too small to say whether it is lettering at all. Low on the cab side, under the window, sits a small mark of the size a road number would be; it too is far under the floor and stays unread.
The train appears in one frame and one only. There is no second shot of this line, this bridge or this locomotive anywhere in the six sources, so there is nowhere else to take the reading. GTA 5 ran its freight the same way in outline, a diesel at the head of boxcars, tankers and container wagons on a line across the map, and that is the counterpart in shape.
How to recognise it
- A diesel locomotive at one end: dark blue with a broad yellow band along the flank
- Cab at the outer end, long hood behind it
- Open cars behind it with a heaped dark load
- A taller reddish-brown ribbed car further along
- Steel through-truss bridge on concrete piers
- Mount Kalaga National Park, in the sixth of the park's press stills
The frame it comes from
The frame is a still from the official Press pack, which carries no timecode. It is 3840 by 2160, and the vehicle occupies 1067 by 159 of it. Also in it: Mount Kalaga National Park and Crest Kayak.
How this was measured
| Source | Press pack |
|---|---|
| Frame | 3840 × 2160 |
| Crop | 1067 × 159 — a small part of the frame |
| Image check | 26 September 2026 — crop checked against the frame |
| Text check | 26 September 2026 — 26 claims read against the image, 4 corrected |
| Read at | the true pixel grid, 1:1 |
| Lettering | Letter height | Contrast | Reads |
|---|---|---|---|
| the small dark mark low on the cab side under the window | 8 px | — | no |
| the short run of dark marks on the yellow band near the cab | 6 px | — | no |
These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work
What we still do not know
- Whether the marks on the yellow band are lettering. The GTA Wiki, read on 26 September 2026, sees ‘Trax’ there and takes it for a Boxtrax livery; at this size we read nothing.
- How long the train is, and how many cars it has. The bridge and the camera angle both cut it off.
- What the load is: it is heaped and dark, which fits coal, ore or aggregate equally
- Whether the line is drivable or scenery
Every frame we have
Also in these frames
Measured in the same frames as the images above, but without a page of their own. Same rule as everywhere else: what the crop carries, with the source and the timecode. The ones whose frame no page shows are collected in the frame.
