Enduro dirt bike

The bike in the foreground of the mud race, close enough to fill the frame and covered in enough of the course that most of its graphics are gone: of the two digits on its number board only the second, a 7, comes apart.

The bike runs out of both sides of the crop. A tall dark number board stands above the forks with a rectangular headlight set into its lower half, and the board carries two large white digits under a spray of mud: the second is a 7, and the first, a slanted stroke whose crossbar the mud may have taken, does not come apart. Until 25 September 2026 this page gave both digits as read; the first is withdrawn, and what the eye supplies is on the sighting. Along the top edge of the board runs a word in much smaller white capitals with a smaller line still under it; both sit at or under this site’s letter floor. Until 23 September 2026 this page printed a reading of that word; it is withdrawn too.

On the front mudguard, where it curves down past the fork, is a sticker with a square mark and two lines of type. GREASE reads in full; the line under it is set smaller and sits under this site’s floor for lettering, so it is not read. Until 25 September 2026 this page put the sticker on the fork guard and read both lines whole; the heights are in the lettering table. The fork tubes are gold and filthy, the front tyre is a knobbly in hard motion blur, and the radiator shrouds carry blue and yellow graphics with a yellow word over them, large but cut by the mud and the edge of the shroud so that it does not read. The rider is in a mud-soaked white top and teal trousers.

Two details in the background are worth recording. A raccoon, going by its masked face, is walking across the rocks at the left, close to the track; until 25 September 2026 this page had it lying there dead. Further back, a second rider in red is coming through, and a steel truss crosses the background behind the handlebars, which this page used to call a concrete viaduct.

The frame is a still from the official Press pack, which carries no timecode. It is 3840 by 2160, and the vehicle occupies 2112 by 1296 of it. Also in it: Mount Kalaga National Park, Dinka Enduro, and a quad bike.
