The muffler shop

The building is open-fronted with a wide flat canopy over the working bay, and the word MUFFLER runs along the fascia. A red car is parked in the bay, a quad and a pickup outside, and the yard is dirt.

Behind and around it are trailers, power lines and scrub — this is the town's working end rather than its strip.

An exhaust shop is the most mundane business in the whole press pack, and that is why it is worth a page: it is the detail that stops the town being a backdrop.
