Firefly Plaza
A banded apartment block on the Vice City waterfront with its name painted in pink across a small white structure on the roof: FIREFLY PLAZA, read letter by letter off the press screenshot.
What the screenshot shows
Five to six storeys in pale tones, with a horizontal band running the full width of every floor and balconies set back behind them. Between the bands are narrow upright windows. The proportions are flat and horizontal, the sort of block that lines a beachfront.
On the roof sits a separate white structure with two vertical pilasters, and across it, in pink capitals over two lines, FIREFLY PLAZA. The letters are cut into the surface rather than applied, so they read by their own shadow; all twelve of them come apart on the 3840×2160 master.
A taller residential tower stands behind it, further back and on a different window grid. That tower is not what carries the name.
How to recognise it
- Continuous horizontal bands on every floor with balconies set behind them
- Narrow upright windows between the bands
- A separate white rooftop structure with two vertical pilasters
- FIREFLY PLAZA in pink capitals over two lines on that structure
The frame it comes from
The frame is a still from the official Press pack, which carries no timecode. It is 3840 by 2160, and the subject occupies 450 by 500 of it. Also in it: Vice City, Hotel Valetta, and a white transit bus.
How this was measured
| Source | Press pack |
|---|---|
| Frame | 3840 × 2160 |
| Crop | 450 × 500 — a small part of the frame |
These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work
What we still do not know
- What is inside. The screenshot shows the outside from the air and nothing of the ground floor.
- Where in Vice City it stands. Nothing in the frame fixes the street.
- Whether it is a hotel, apartments or offices. Plaza says nothing either way.
