Gloriana
A second state, known only from number plates. On one plate the name reads at a size this site accepts; a second carries the same dolphin device, and two more, in a design without the dolphin, are here on our own reading of small print that does not clear the floor.
Why this is a page and not a footnote
One plate would be a footnote on a vehicle page. Here the name reads on one plate, the same device turns up on a second, on another vehicle in another press still, and a second design points the same way on our own reading. That is the start of a registration system with its own devices and its own bands, a thing in the world rather than a detail on a car.
What it is not is a place we can point to. Everything here comes off the plates, and the one that reads gives the name and a country line, AMERICA, and nothing about where the state is.
What the plates say
One plate carries the name at a size this site reads. It hangs off the back of the yellow sports bike in the third Lucia Caminos press still, at an angle to the camera, with GLORIANA in capitals along the top band, a green dolphin under a green arc between the halves of the number, an orange disc below the dolphin, and AMERICA along the bottom band. That plate is the page: the name, the device and the country line are all read off it on the true pixel grid. The number between them does not come apart in full, so it is not printed here.
The blue two-tone saloon in the press pack carries a plate with the same device, much smaller in the frame: EUL and Y7 as the number, and between the two halves a dark green dolphin under an arc, over an orange disc. The number reads. The rest is not laid out like the first plate: the word along the top is set in upper and lower case rather than capitals, and the bottom band is orange, with two small words on it. Both sit under this site’s floor for lettering, so what they say is our own reading on the sighting and not printed here. What ties this plate to the page is the device, not a word on it.
A third plate on this page carries a design with no dolphin at all: a line of small text across the top band with a two-character group at each end, the number in the middle, and a single word on the bottom band. It is on the red convertible in the Extended Look, and its number, HRP RB9, reads; the two bands sit well under the floor. The red and white Rancher on the highway in Trailer 2 carries the same design, and there not even the number clears the floor: its characters measure right on it, so it counts as unread. So nothing on either plate ties it to Gloriana by this site’s rule. Both are here on our own reading of the bottom band, recorded on the sightings, and both stay an open question until one of them turns up closer.
What is not on this page is a sign, a badge or a line of dialogue. Nothing in the official material this site holds says the word Gloriana except a number plate, and only one plate says it at a size that counts.
How to recognise it
- GLORIANA in capitals along the top band, on the one plate where the name reads
- A green dolphin under an arc between the halves of the number, over an orange disc
- AMERICA along the bottom band of that same plate
- A design without the dolphin: small text on the top band and one word on the bottom band, both under the reading floor, with the number between them
- Three plates on this page, and the same device on two of them
The frame it comes from
The frame is a still from the official Press pack, which carries no timecode. It is 3840 by 2160, and the subject occupies 537 by 432 of it. Also in it: the LIQUOR BAR neon, Hoodwinks, a yellow sport bike, and Lucia Caminos.
How this was measured
| Source | Press pack |
|---|---|
| Frame | 3840 × 2160 |
| Crop | 537 × 432 — a small part of the frame |
| Image check | 26 September 2026 — crop checked against the frame |
| Text check | 26 September 2026 — 58 claims read against the image, 7 corrected |
| Read at | the true pixel grid, 1:1 |
| Lettering | Letter height | Contrast | Reads |
|---|---|---|---|
| GLORIANA | 40 px | — | every character |
| AMERICA | 43 px | — | every character |
| the plate number | 128 px | — | in part |
| HRP RB9 | 40 px | — | every character |
| the small band above the number | 15 px | — | no |
| the small band below the number | 15 px | — | no |
| EUL Y7 | 24 px | — | every character |
| the serif word on the top band | 15 px | — | no |
| the two words on the orange bottom band | 10 px | — | no |
These figures come from the dataset, not from the prose above. We measure everything and claim what counts. How we work
What we still do not know
- Where Gloriana is, and whether any of the game’s map is in it
- Whether Gloriana vehicles are simply out-of-state traffic
- Whether the plates without the dolphin are Gloriana plates at all. Only their small print would say, and it does not clear the floor.
- What the small bands on the smaller plates say. Our own readings are on the sightings; none of them clears the floor.
- Whether the two designs are two eras of one state’s plate or two different things
Every frame we have
Also in these frames
Measured in the same frames as the images above, but without a page of their own. Same rule as everywhere else: what the crop carries, with the source and the timecode. The ones whose frame no page shows are collected in the frame.
