GTA Playbook is a reference for Grand Theft Auto VI built entirely from material Rockstar has released: two trailers, the Extended Look, the official press pack and the cover art. No leaks, no datamines, no rumours dressed up as reporting.
The site exists because of a gap. In the months before a Grand Theft Auto launch, almost everything written about the game is either a countdown to the release date or a recycled version of the same five facts. Meanwhile there is a very large amount of information sitting in plain sight in the official material that nobody has catalogued — vehicles, places, weapons, things you will be able to do — and it stays uncatalogued because doing it properly is slow.
We did the slow version.
What is in the database
Every entry on this site comes from a frame of official footage, and every frame is on file with its source and its timecode. The current holding:
- 503 sightings logged across five sources — Trailer 1, Trailer 2, the Extended Look, the press pack and the cover art
- 256 frames kept as evidence, each one the actual image a claim rests on
- 91 vehicles with their own page, of which 28 carry a confirmed name
- 106 further entries — characters, locations, weapons, activities and gameplay mechanics
Each page shows you the frame with a box drawn around the thing being described, plus where it came from and at what timecode. You are never asked to take our word for it, because the evidence is on the page.
The rule that shapes everything
We do not guess names. Rockstar’s vehicle and weapon names are wordplay with no derivable relationship to the real-world object, so a name inferred from a silhouette is not a hypothesis — it is a fabrication that will be copied by other sites and repeated back as fact. Where a name is confirmed, we say how. Where it is not, the page describes what is visible and says plainly that the name is unknown.
That rule costs us pages and traffic. It is also the entire reason to trust anything else here.
What changes at launch
GTA 6 releases on 19 November 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. From that day the database stops being an exercise in reading footage and starts being an exercise in measurement: performance figures taken on a PS5 under a documented method, vehicle galleries shot in-game to replace the trailer stills, and the hundreds of entries that currently read “unknown” filled in with answers.
The frames stay. They are the record of what was knowable before anyone had played it.
Who makes this
